Mr. Felix J. Kruczek, of Taunton, died Tuesday, February 16 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Lea R. (Simard) Kruczek. He was born 93 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Walter and Katarzyna (Stefanik) Kruczek. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Felix had been employed as Head Farmer and Groundskeeper for the Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as an ammunition handler in the European Theatre. Felix was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Bruins fan. He also enjoyed salt and fresh water fishing, and woodworking in his garage, where he made assorted furniture, wishing wells and swing sets. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton. He leaves: 1 son: John J. Kruczek and his wife, Kathleen of Johnston, R.I.; a daughter-in-law: Wendy Kruczek of Berkley; 4 grandchildren: Dr. Kimberly Kruczek, Kelly Kruczek, Scott Kruczek and Bonnie Forsberg; 3 great grandchildren: Julie, Jacob, and Jasmine Forsberg, and several nieces and nephews. Felix was also the father of the late Stephen Kruczek. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. ATTLEBORO – Gabriel M. Camara was born on Nov. 15, 1993, as a precious boy who entered life. As he grew, he placed footprints of love on every heart he touched. That precious soul was taken from us on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. He was born to Luis Camara of Attleboro and Deborah Carr of Lakeville and received as a blessing by his brother Nathaniel Camara. He loved nature and animals as only a loving soul can. He left a vacuum in the hearts of his mom, dad and brother; his grandmother, Marilyn Marobella; cousins, Chantal, Jonathan, Christopher and Luke, as well as his Aunt Laura and Uncle Bill. He leaves this same vacuum in the hearts of those who knew him. Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In Taunton, February 22, 2016 Paul E. St. Laurent, Age 65, passed away in Morton Hospital suddenly. Paul is survived by his loving companion Lorraine (DeMello) Byrne of Taunton and grandson Ansel LaMarca. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Joseph H. & Mary L. (Larkin) St. Laurent. Paul had resided in Taunton most of his life. He enjoyed cooking, watching the Red Sox and Patriots and above all cherished his family and friends. Paul is survived by his brothers Peter, Mark and Thomas St. Laurent all of Taunton. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, friends and the children he thought of as his grandchildren. In Yarmouth, February 25, 2016 Lawrence E. “Rebel” Durham, Age 74, passed away in the Windsor Skilled Nursing Home in Yarmouth. Lawrence was the husband of the late Nancy Jean (Fonseca) Durham and also Lila (Norris) Durham of RI. He was born in Fredonia, Kansas, the son of the late Everett & Velma (Fiscus) Durham. Lawrence had resided most of his life in Taunton. He served his country while in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Taunton Fish & Game Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially spending time with family and friends. Lawrence leaves his children Jeffrey Durham of Taunton , Kimberley Levesque of East Freetown and the late Jannell Kingsbury Durham and Jeannine Durham. He also leaves his eight siblings and his loving grandchildren Tamara Peters, Justin Kingsbury, Sara Woodbury, Kyle Grundy, Jonathan Kingsbury and Zachary Grundy. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. Services are private at the request of the family. TAUNTON – Joseph F. Padula of Taunton died at Morton Hospital on May 21, 2015. He was 88. Born in Dover, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Costano) Padula. Educated in Dover, NH and Taunton, Joseph later served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A retired factory worker, he was employed by the former Reed and Barton Silversmiths for many years. Joseph was a communicant of St. Mary Church and life member of Taunton’s VFW Post 611. He is survived by his brother, John Padula of Taunton and good friend, Marlene Aviles of Taunton. Mrs. Lucille M. (Salois) Pelletier, of Taunton and Ft. Pierce, Fla., died unexpectedly Monday, February 29 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland F. Pelletier. She was born 97 years ago in Central Falls, R.I., the daughter of the late Alfred and Corinne (Fontaine) Salois. She was educated in Pawtucket, R.I., and had been a Taunton resident for the past 75 years. Lucille was a member of the Raynham Senior Citizens Club, where she served as Chaplain. She enjoyed exercising and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton. She leaves: 2 sons: Richard Pelletier and his wife, Joyce of Ft. Pierce, Fla, and Robert Pelletier and his wife, Catherine of Davenport, Fla.; 1 daughter: Elaine Sherman and her husband, William of Taunton; a son-in-law: William Bullock of Brewster; a sister-in-law: Theresa Dandeneau of So.Hadley; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Lucille was also the mother of the late Jeanne Bullock, sister of the late Theresa Brady, Rita Lefaivre, Anna Lambert, Irene Salois and Bro. Lionel Salois, and sister-in-law of the late Loretta Lariviere, Mary Fournier and Joseph Pelletier. TAUNTON – Joseph Furtado, husband of the late Evelyn (Mancini) Furtado, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on Tuesday, Mar. 1, 2016. He was 91. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Medeiros) Furtado. Joseph was educated in Fall River schools and moved to Taunton in 1970. He served in the US Army during World War II and worked as a quality control manager and former Pyrotechtor in Hingham for many years until he retired as the manager of Taunton Self Storage. Joseph was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Taunton. He enjoyed archeology, ham radio, fishing, model airplanes, loved animals and raised beagles. Survivors include one son, Michael J. Furtado of Tiverton, RI; two step-daughters, Denise Mercurio and her husband Don Gilbert of Hull and Lisa J. Murray and her husband Arthur of N. Dighton; two grandchildren, Jennifer Perry of Dighton, and the late Joseph Furtado; two great-grandchildren, Barrett Cook of Fall River and Shawn Cook of Dighton. In Taunton, Ma. John J. Connors, 86, passed away on March 5, 2016 at Marian Manor in Taunton after a period of failing health. He was born in Taunton, the son of Frank D. and Mary (Minahan) Connors. He was educated at St Mary’s School and graduated from Monsignor James Coyle High School. He was a Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force. After his military service, he attended Bridgewater State College where he received his Bachelor and Master degrees along with several other professional certifications. He taught in the Brockton school system for 31 years before retiring. He was devout Catholic and could be seen Saturdays and Sundays at his beloved St Mary’s Church attending to his many responsibilities. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St Vincent de Paul Society where he held several offices. He was a recipient of the Marian Medal. In addition to his wife Gloria (Janes), he is survived by his children, Francis J. (Frank) and his wife Donna-Lee of Taunton, James P. and his wife Chris of Rindge, NH, John J. II and his wife Cheryle of Taunton, Mary Madan and her husband Thomas of Taunton and Jane M. and her partner Deidre Antes of Taunton. He is survived by a brother Daniel J. of Deep River, CT. and a sister Ann Long of Leesburg, FL. He is preceded in death by his sister Mary Smith and brother Reverend Francis B. Connors. In Taunton, March 5, 2016, Carlton A. Caron, Age 88, passed away in Marian Manor following a brief period of declining health. Carlton is survived by his wife of 63 years Shirley (Riendeau) Caron. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Michael and Sarah (Fahey) Caron. Carlton was educated in Taunton schools and graduated from Monsignor James Coyle High School and Bentley College. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a “Tin Can Sailor” aboard the USS Gearing and was stationed in Cuba. Carlton was a Certified Public Accountant and held in-house positions in the United Fruit Company, Raytheon, Princess House, and other companies, as well as maintaining a private accounting practice in Taunton for decades. He was also an entrepreneur and the proud published author of “Short Stories: The Selected Memoirs of Carlton A. Caron.” Carlton was a member of the Taunton Historical Society and the Portuguese American Civic Club and a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Taunton. He enjoyed golf, genealogy studies, and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife Shirley, Carlton leaves his beloved children Carlton H. Caron and his wife, Joann, and his daughter Lori Caron Silveira, his grandchildren Melissa, Heather, Vanessa and Drew, and his great grandchildren Brennan, Savannah and Karson. He was the brother of John B. Caron, Leah Stevens, Genevieve Parsons, Irma Trow, Michael Caron and the late Louis, Edward and William Caron and Anna Sawyer. TAUNTON – Mary (Sousa) Alves died at Morton Hospital on March 6, 2016, after a brief illness, surrounded by her daughters. Born in Taunton on May 9, 1916, Mary was the daughter of Virginia Evariste Sousa and Joseph Sousa. Mary is survived by four daughters, Virginia Sanson with whom she resided, Emily Sanson David and her husband Howard, Gladys Alves Perry and her husband Bruce Axon, and Aurora (Aurie) Alves-McCarty; three grandchildren, David Perry, Laurie Woodward and Breda McCarty; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Perry; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was educated in Taunton Schools. She was a woman of many talents and loved creative projects, including cake decorating, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Her elaborate wedding cakes were admired for their intricacy and uniqueness. Mary worked for many years as a seamstress, including garment making and textiles. She became head seamstress at Paul A. Dever State School and retired in 1981. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Sousa and Samuel Sousa; and two sisters, Emma Tavares and Beatrice Morais. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Alice (Collins) St. Pierre. He graduated from Fall River Provost High School, class of 1949. Donald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a construction supervisor for the Commonwealth of MA for 17 years, retiring in 1989. Donald was a member of the VFW Post 5392 in Tiverton, RI and of the Middleboro Country Club of Rehoboth. He loved playing golf, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his girlfriend, Natalie MacDonald; two sons, Wayne R. St. Pierre and his wife Debra of Fairhaven and David A. She was employed for many years as an assembler for Norwell Manufacturing. A communicant of Holy Family Church, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born 96 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Jeronimo and Maria (Gonsalves) Cruz. Alice was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as an attendant at Taunton State Hospital for several years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and watching Jeopardy. She read two to three newspapers each day to keep up with current events. She loved animals, and over the years had dogs, cats, birds and chickens. She leaves: 2 daughters: Ruth Burke of Taunton, and Barbara Gagne and her husband, Dennis of Taunton; 1 brother: Bartholomew Cruz and his wife, Theresa of Taunton; 1 sister: Cindy Babiczuk and her husband, Freddie of Taunton; 5 grandchildren: Paul Morin and his wife, Beth, Tracy Askew and her husband, Al, Keith Morin, Jonathan Gagne and his wife, Karen, and Katherine Neville and her husband, Eric; 10 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In Brockton, March 13, 2016 Joyce A. Longo Age 81, passed away in Brockton Hospital following a period of failing health. Joyce was the wife of William J. Longo. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Henry & Dorothy (Calvey) Duhamel. Joyce had lived her entire life in Taunton. She was employed as an office manager for the Criminal Clerks office at Taunton District Court until her retirement at the age of 72. Joyce was an avid reader and enjoyed Friday evenings dancing with her husband of 61 years, summer vacations spent in New Hampshire with family, friends and meals shared around the dining room table where all are welcome. She believed that what mattered most in life was the love of family and spending time with those she loved. In addition to her loving husband, Joyce leaves her two daughters Stacey Januse of Raynham and Carol Longo of Taunton. She also leaves her grandchildren James “Jay” Januse and his wife, lovingly called “Granddaughter” Katherine of Lakeville and Kathryn D. Correia of Taunton. She also leaves her siblings Carol Hoffshire of North Dighton, Eleanor Meehan of Rindge, NH and Henry Duhamel of Warner, NH. Joyce also leaves several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. TAUNTON – Anthony P. Barber, husband of Marcia E. (Roderick) Barber, died unexpectedly at Morton Hospital on March 16, 2016. He was 69. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Antone and Gwendolyn (Gray) Barber. A lifelong resident of Taunton, Tony was a 1965 graduate of Taunton High School. He later served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. A retired electrician, Tony was employed by Texas Instruments for many years and had also worked in security. He was currently working as a delivery man for Bristol Elders Services. He was a member of the Liberty Christian Center. An artist, Tony loved caricature, cartooning and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Kristine Barber of Taunton, Allyson Barber of Fall River and Shanna Andrews and her husband Chris of Wareham; six grandchildren, Matthew, Terrance, Zakary, Colby, Zora and Chanche; two great-grandchildren, Jayce and Jaxon; two aunts, Shirley Baldwin of Chicago, IL and Dorothy Duarte of Newport, RI; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Liberty Christian Center, 159 Winthrop St., Taunton on Saturday, March 19th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton. In Taunton, March 17, 2016 Thelma Eva (Mocker) Kable, Age 97, passed away peacefully at Marion Manor Nursing Home. Thelma was the devoted wife of the late Frederick J. Kable. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Michael & Mary (Widowiak) Mocker, both immigrants of Poland. Thelma was a lifelong resident of Taunton. She graduated from the American School of Cosmetology in Boston and was a hairdresser for over 40 years, including the Marion Manor Nursing Home for several years. Thelma also was employed at Texas Instruments for many years. Thelma was proud of her Polish heritage, she spoke Polish fluently as well as reading and writing. Thelma was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, she sang in the choir and in 2007 was inducted into the Secular Franciscan Order of the Holy Rosary Fraternity. She was a wonderful cook, had an extremely strong faith and loved going to the beach, dancing the polka and driving her Volkswagon Beetle and shopping at the original Filene’s Basement in Boston. Thelma is survived by her daughter Cheryl Lake and her husband Paul of Waltham, Ma and the late June Polito and her husband William Polito of Bridgewater. She loved and was extremely proud of her grandchildren Christopher and Meghan Lake of Waltham. Thelma was one of eleven children, four of whom died in childhood, she is survived by her sister Helen Lecuyer and her husband Roland of Raynham, Ma. She is also survived by many nieces and her godson. Thelma spent the final years at Marion Manor and attended daily mass in the chapel and Saturday bingo. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Wednesday, March 23rd at 9:30 am. with visitation until 10:30 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Mrs. Elaine R. (Clancy) Renaud, of Taunton, died Friday, March 18 at her residence following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Joseph F. Renaud. She was born 71 years ago in Brockton, the daughter of the late Herman and Jenny (Spakowski) Clancy. She was educated in Brockton, having graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School, and had been a Taunton resident for the past 20 years. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a teacher and Assistant Director at KinderCare of Bridgewater for several years. She was previously employed as a hairstylist, and was a homemaker for many years. Elaine also volunteered at the Immaculate Conception Church Sunday School in Easton. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and accompanying her husband to classic car shows and “cruise nights.” In addition to her husband, she was the beloved mother of Cynthia Beauchesne and her husband, Dana of Nottingham, N.H., and Patricia Magri and her husband, John of Lincolnville, Me. Elaine also leaves 6 grandchildren: Zoie, Jet, and Colt Magri, Sophie and Olivia Beauchesne, and Nina Losee, and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, March 23 at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. EAST TAUNTON – Maria Leonor (Soares) Reis of East Taunton, wife of the late Jose L. Reis, died at the Golden Living Wedgemere Center on March 19, 2016. She was 79. Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa (Silva) Soares. Educated in the Azores, she moved to the Taunton area in 1973. She was employed by Parker Bros. for many years before retiring in 2001. A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading books. Survivors include three sons, Edward Reis of East Taunton, Luis Reis and his wife Paula of Franklin and Tony Reis of Sandwich; three daughters, Helen Reis-Tobey of Lakeville, Yolanda and Tanya Reis, both of East Taunton; four brothers, Mario Soares of St. Michael, Luis Soares of Fall River, Victor Antonio Soares of Taunton and Jose Soares of Taunton; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, March 23rd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Esther was born in Middleboro, Ma, the daughter of Ellen Pina and her step father Frank Cordoba of Taunton and her late father Julio Rodriguez. Esther had resided in Somerville the past four years and was formerly of Taunton. Esther enjoyed dancing, laughing and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her siblings Ricardo Rodriguez of Taunton, Tolo Rodriguez of RI and Brenda Rodriguez of Taunton. Esther also leaves several nieces & nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
