In Wareham formerly of Taunton, November 12th 2015 Patricia M. (L’Heureux) Luiz daughter of the late Louis and Alice (McDonough) L’Heureuz died at Tobey Hospital at the age of 68. Patricia was born and educated in Taunton. She enjoyed the beach, Cape Cod, her children and grandchildren. Patricia was the mother of Trevor Luiz of Taunton, Tyler Luiz of Maine and Trent of Marston’s Mills. Sister of Shirley Maguire of Taunton, Carolyn O’Neil of Plymouth and the late Marjorie Borges and James L’Heureux Grandmother of ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Mass will be held at St Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton Saturday, November 28th at 9 AM. Interment St Joseph cemetery in Taunton.

RAYNHAM – Robert J. Castro, husband of Lorraine (Ferreira) Castro of Raynham, died at Morton Hospital on Nov. 25, 2015. He was 85. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Serafin and Mary (Vargas) Castro. A 1948 graduate of Taunton High School, Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a co-owner of Hopper Feeds Engineering of Raynham for 35 years before retiring in 1995. A communicant of St. Ann Church, he was a member of the Rayn-Water Fishing Club, and the American Legion Post 405, he was an avid reader, loved bass fishing, vegetable gardening, hunting, bee keeping, the Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert Castro, Jr. and his partner Harry Burer of Raynham, Michael Castro and his wife Karry of Stoughton; a brother, Joseph Castro of East Taunton; three grandchildren, Abigail, Natalie and Bridget Castro, all of Stoughton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Herbert Perry, formerly of Taunton, died November 16 in the Gulfside Hospice at Bayonet Point, Hudson, Fla., following a period of failing health. he was the beloved husband of Catherine M. (McKenna) Perry. He was born 84 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late John and Fannie (Silvia) Perry. He was educated in Taunton and had been a Taunton resident for most of his life, prior to relocating to Florida last year. Prior to his retirement, Herbert had been employed as a warehouseman for Shaw’s Supermarkets. He was previously employed as a solderer for the former F.B. Rogers Silvermiths in Taunton. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. In addition to his wife, of Port Richey, Fla., he leaves: 3 sons: Michael Perry of Taunton, Ma. Steven Perry of Coventry, R.I., and Scott Perry of Taunton, Ma.; 2 daughters: Marianne Fernandes of Port Richey, Fla., and Lisa Luongo of Canton, MA; 1 brother: Leo Perry of Taunton; 1 sister: Shirley Giroux of Norton; 8 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Herbert was also the father of the late Jeffrey Perry of E.Taunton, and the brother of the late Fannie Wilford and the late Edmond Perry, both of Taunton. TAUNTON – Peter Dante Mazzoleni, husband of Alice Mae (Baptista) Mazzoleni of Taunton, died at the Marian Manor on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015. He was 85. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Peter M. and Mary A. (Bianco) Mazzoleni. Educated in Taunton, he was a 1947 graduate of Taunton High School, later serving in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. Peter was a bonding mill operator for Texas Instruments for 33 years, retiring at age 61. A communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church, he was a life member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 150, the trip coordinator for the Weir Seniors, and member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society and Italian Social Club. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Michael P. Mazzoleni and his wife Peggy of Taunton; a daughter, Susan M. Kenney and her husband James of Taunton; a brother, William Mazzoleni and his wife Evelyn of Taunton; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in Plainfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Rose (Giunta) Spinelli. She was raised and educated in New Jersey and was a 1957 graduate of Middlesex County Vocational & Technical High School. Co-owner of a beauty salon in NJ for some years, she was later employed in retail sales. Concetta enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch, traveling to Italy and Switzerland; and casino trips. She also loved meditation and yoga. Survivors include her beloved companion Ed Pontes of Dighton; her son, David Coniglio and Tina of CA; her daughter, Michelle Holt and her husband Timothy of Taunton; two sisters, Ginger Charborda and Rita Spinelli, both of New Jersey; six grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin, Nathan, Amanda, Angela and Andrea; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Robert E. Henault, of Taunton, died Tuesday, December 15 in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. He was the former husband of Adrian (Swisher) Barboza. He was born 79 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Joseph A. and Anna (Nadeau) Henault. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Taunton Vocational High School, and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Robert had owned and operated Bob’s Auto in Middleboro for 10 years. He was previously employed at Brockton Hospital for a number of years. He formerly operated the Windemere Farm Antique Shop in Taunton. Robert was a U.S.Army veteran, serving with the 30th Artillery during the early Vietnam Era. He played baseball and softball and enjoyed trapping, fishing and woodcutting. He was a former member of the Mitchell Club in Middleboro. He leaves: 3 sons: Robert E. Henault II and his wife, Linda of Taunton, William J. Henault and his wife, Darlene of Berkley, and Nathan Child of Taunton; 1 daughter: Rita Henault of Berkley; 1 brother: Alfred Henault and his wife, Evelyn of Middleboro; 2 sisters: Yvonne Henault of Taunton and Annette Vargas and her husband, George of Taunton; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. TAUNTON – Robert “Gonk” Gonsalves, died peacefully at the Veterans Transition House of New Bedford, on Dec. 16, 2015, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was 67. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late James and Antonia (Monteiro) Gonsalves. A Vietnam veteran, “Gonk” was a lifelong area resident, residing in New Bedford for the past 15 years where he worked in construction and actively participated in his recovery community. Robert was affiliated with the Veterans Transition House of New Bedford, helping others on the road to recovery, and enjoyed playing and coaching softball, and karaoke. Survivors include 5 daughters, Christine (Gonsalves) Stevenson of Taunton, Tina Smith and TammyYost both of Missouri, Alishia (Gonsalves) Sommers of Raynham, and Tailyn Gonsalves of East Bridgewater; two sons, Eric Peters of Taunton, and Travis Gonsalves of Raynham; 4 sisters, Anna Barros of New Bedford, Mary Lou Antone, and Antonia Monteiro, both of Newport, RI, and Jo-Ann Lopes of Taunton; 3 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also the brother to the late Dolores Barboza, Amelia Sanders, James Gonsalves Jr., Isabel Monteiro, Alfred Gonsalves, Hilda Avellar and Samuel Gonsalves. Judith was employed as a payroll clerk for Reed & Barton Company until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with her husband and above all cherished her time with family. In addition to her husband, Judith leaves her children Graham R. McCloskey of Fort Myers, FL and Lori Walsh of East Taunton. TAUNTON – Filomena G. DeAndrade, 86, died at Morton Hospital on December 23, 2015. She was the wife of the late Jose D. DeAndrade, to whom she was married for 56 years. Filomena was born in Norte Pequeno, Faial, Azores, the daughter of the late Jose and Maria Garcia Luis. She immigrated to Taunton in 1959. She worked at the Mason Box Company from 1959 until her retirement in 1994. A woman of faith and love, she was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. She is survived by her three children: Joseph Andrade and his wife Manuela of Taunton, with whom she resided; D. Manuel Andrade and his wife Patricia of Faial, Azores; and Maria DeSousa and her husband Joseph of South Dartmouth. She was the grandmother of Rachel Andrade, Megan Scheffer and her husband Justin, Shannon Buchanan and her husband John, and Michael DeSousa and his wife Alissa. She was the great-grandmother of Addison and Alec Scheffer, Jordan Buchanan and Gavin DeSousa. She is survived by two brothers, Manuel Garcia of Taunton and John DaRosa of Novato, California along with many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose Garcia, Maria Moitoso, Antonio Luis, Angelina DaRosa and Francisco DaRosa. She is survived by a Son, James W. TAUNTON – Georgina N. (Costa) Bettencourt, wife of the late Daniel A. Bettencourt, died at the Taunton Nursing Home on Dec. 28, 2015. She was 92. Born in Altares, Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco C. and Maria Lourdes (Esteves) Vaz Costa. Educated in Portugal, she moved to this area in 1969 and was a homemaker for most of her adult life. A woman of great faith, Georgina was an active communicant of St. Anthony Church and will be remembered for her love of her church. Survivors include 4 sons, Carlos Bettencourt and his wife Maria of E. Taunton, Manuel Bettencourt and his wife Fatima of Taunton, Daniel Bettencourt and his wife Bella of Taunton, and Mario Bettencourt and his wife Kathleen of E. Taunton; 3 daughters; Fatima Ferreira and her husband Joel of Taunton, Mary Lou D’Angelo and her husband Michael of Raynham and Aurora Resendes and her fiancé Leonard Rose, Jr. of Taunton; a sister, Odette Peixoto of CA; many grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Valdemar Bettencourt, the grandmother of the late Ryan Bettencourt and the sister of the late Manuel V. Costa, Maria Carminha Cabral and Noemia Pereira. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Jan. 5th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. TAUNTON – Angelina Leonor (Cesar) Faria, wife of the late Jose Faria, died at Lifecare Center of Raynham on Jan. 3, 2016. She was 95 years old. Born in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao R. and Olivia (Pereira) Faria. She moved to this area in 1974 and worked as a housekeeper for Marian Manor for eight years, retiring in 1982. A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she enjoyed music, animals and spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Manuel G. Faria and his wife Silvina and Alberto I. Faria and his wife Maria, all of Taunton; two daughters, Maria P. Martins and her husband Jorge of Faial, Azores and Alda M. Duarte and her husband Eduviges of Taunton; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Jose A. Faria and Serafim P. Faria, and the sister of the late Jose Faria Pereira, Serafim Faria Pereira and Maria Adelaide Faria. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Saturday, Jan. 9th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
