He was born in Boston, the son of the late George & Helen (Akerberg) Moses. John was a graduate of New England School of Law. John practiced law in Bristol County for many years, first as a public defender, later as an assistant district attorney and in his later years in private practice. He was known and respected as a competent and zealous advocate. John also leaves his children John Edward Moses, Brendan Moses and his wife Sarah and his daughter Rebecca Moses all of Taunton. He also leaves his grandchildren Courtney, Bradley and David. John also leaves his siblings Hon. Richard Moses and his wife Christine of Dartmouth and Mary Ann Kirven and her husband Ronnie of Hingham. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, May 27th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church in East Taunton at 10 am. TAUNTON – Alveda B. (Braga) Crovello, wife of the late Francis S. Crovello, died peacefully at her Taunton home surrounded by her loving family on May 20, 2015. She was 94. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Gomes) Braga. She was a lifelong area resident. A homemaker for most of her adult life, Alveda had been employed by the former Robertson Curtain Factory and Pine Manufacturing many years ago. She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Steven Crovello of Raynham and Michael Crovello and his wife Lois of Florida; two daughters, Joyce F. Zimmerman and her husband Edward of Hudson, NH and Susan M. Crovello of Taunton; a brother, John Braga and his wife Wilma of Taunton; a sister, Anna Farias of Taunton; nine grandchildren, Ann-Marie Morin, Denise Taylor, Andrea Delmonte, David Zimmerman, Stefanie Costello, Michael Emond, Melissa Arruda, Michelle Miller and Lisa Race; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph, Anthony and Rose Braga, her twin sister, Alice Braga and Mary Ferreira. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, May 26th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In Taunton, May 23, 2015 Anita E. McCarthy, Age 90 passed away at the Marian Manor Nursing Home in Taunton, following a brief period of declining health. Anita was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alfred J. & Denise (Beique) LaCroix. Anita was educated in Taunton schools. She moved to New York City, the city that she truly loved, working as a producer and set director. She enjoyed hooking rugs, crafts, Cape Cod and the theatre and arts. Anita was preceded in death by her siblings Pauline Rasmussen and David J. LaCroix. She also leaves her cousin and caregiver Dorothy Lane of Taunton and Robert P. Murphy of Taunton. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th at 1 pm. In St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. Survivors include 2 Sons, Leonardo Figueroa II of West Point, NY and Jovan Figueroa of Taunton, 5 Brothers, Miguel, Israel, Hector, Robert,and Rey Morales, 5 Sisters Hayda, Alicia, Carmen , Marisol, and Beatrice many nieces and nephews. She was also the former wife of Leonardo Figueroa and dear companion of Robert Rodriguez. Born and educated in Taunton, Norman was the son of the late Louis and Malvina (Dumoulin) Lehoullier. Norman served his county in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a retired Silversmith for Reed & Barton in Taunton for over forty five years. Norman enjoyed all kinds of fishing ice, salt and especially lake fishing and also enjoyed playing CYO baseball and basketball. Norman was the father of Denise Deeb and her husband Andy of Taunton, Paul Lehoullier of Rochester, NY, Joan Lehoullier and her wife Kathy O’Neil of Nashua, NH, Mark Lehoullier and his wife Susan of Plainville and Bob Lehoullier and his wife Doreen of Chichester, NH. Grandfather of Andrea Deeb, Kim (Deeb) Crossley and her husband Adam, Matthew and Madeline Lehoullier, Jack and Lauren Lehoullier. Brother of Robert Doherty and his wife Joanne of Easton. In Taunton, May 23, 2014 Donald F. Morison, Age 77, passed away in Morton Hospital following a lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Donald is survived by his wife Deborah (Hathaway) Morrison of Taunton. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Francis X. and Barbara (Mahoney) Morrison. Donald had resided in Taunton for the past twenty years and was formerly of South Paris, ME. He was educated in Taunton schools and a graduate of Coyle High School, class of 1954 and the a graduate of Boston University, class of 1958. Donald was a member of the National Music Education Association, a lifetime and founding member of the R.I. Mineral Hunters. A lifetime member of the Oxford County Mineral Club, the MA Bay Railroad Enthusiast, a member of Historic New England and the Gilbert & Sullivan Society. He enjoyed stamp collecting, fireworks, model railroading, traveling and attending family gatherings. In addition to his wife, Donald leaves his children Kevin Morrison and his wife Ruth Morrison of Canton, Kathleen Gorbach of Weston, Michael Morrison and his wife Lorraine of Bourne, Dawn Morrison of Clifton Park, N.Y. and Sharon Bryne of South Plainfield, N.J. He also leaves his grandchildren Ryan Morrison of Bourne, Caleb and Kyle Morrison of Canton and Ella Bryne of N.J. A private memorial and graveside service will be held at a later date. Born in Boston and a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche Pukt. Elizabeth was a great cook, cooking for many different restaurants. She was a fantastic ballroom dancer with her husband Christopher and also enjoyed the Boston Pops, music, cats, dogs and especially her children and great grandchildren. She was the mother of Elizabeth Pollock and her husband William of Dighton, James Hooley and his wife Joyce of Duxbury and their children Patricia Hooley, Catherine Shanahan and James Hooley, Robert Hooley and his wife Joanne of East Taunton and his children Matthew Holley, Carole Cumbus and step children Geoffrey and Eric Langfield. In Taunton, May 28, 2015, Ruth M. Lester died at Morton Hospital following a brief illness, she was 102 years old. Ruth was the wife of the late Lieutenant Colonel Alec H. Lester, and the daughter of the late William J. and Alice (Marley) Ward. Born and educated in Taunton she was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham. Mrs. Lester graduated from the Union Hospital of Nursing and was a Major during World War II in the Army Air Corps as an Evacuation Nurse in the western pacific area of operations. She logged more than 1200 hours of flight time, most of which were in forward areas. She was a resident of the Arbors in Taunton and lived for many years in Bonita Springs, FL. She was the sister of the late John J. Ward, Gertrude Delaney, William J. Ward and Alice Smith. She is also survived by her nieces Kathleen Pacheco and her husband Wayne and Linda DeAngelis. Her nephews, Michael Delaney, C. Richard Ward, James Ward, William Ward and the late John Ward, and many grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a cousin Patricia Currivan of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 1st at 11 am. at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. He was born 88 years ago in Tiverton, R.I., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Correiro. He was educated in Tiverton and had been a Taunton resident for the past 49 years. Prior to his retirement, John had been employed at Whittenton Hardware and previously at Manny’s Hardware in Taunton for 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He enjoyed playing bingo and video games. In Boston, May 31, 2015 Michael McGuire husband of Claudine (Fleck) McGuire died after a long battle with cancer at Mass General Hospital at the age of 57. Born in Taunton, Michael was the son of the late John and Shirley (L’Heureux) McGuire. He was a graduate of Coyle & Cassidy High School class of 1976 and was a self employed mason. Michael was a member of the P.A.C.C. in Taunton, Italian Naturalization Club in Taunton. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling the Patriots, Red Sox, NASCAR, camping at Bourne Scenic Park and playing his guitar. Michael was the father of Zachary McGuire of Taunton and step father of Andrea Henault of Taunton and Jason Fleck of New Bedford. Grandfather of five step grandchildren and the light of his life Aiden. Brother of Stephen McGuire of Taunton. Mrs. Marguerite F. “Meg” (Lemieux) Steeves, of Taunton, passed on Monday, June 1 at her residence following a brief period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Carruth J. “Steve” Steeves. She was born 94 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Oscar and Helene I. (Nolin) Lemieux. She was educated at the former St. Jacques Grammar School, was a Taunton High School graduate. Meg was a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, Meg had been employed as a bookkeeper at Wheaton College, Norton for 15 years, and in retail on Main Street in Taunton for many years. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Church Women’s Guild, the Queen’s Daughters and the Weir Senior Citizens Club. Meg was an avid reader, card player and walker. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She leaves: 1 son: Richard Steeves of Taunton; 2 daughters: Jane Steeves of Taunton and Frances Frias of Taunton; 3 grandchildren: Jessie Frias, Nolin Frias, Emily Donohoe and her husband, Evan; 2 great granddaughters: Charlotte and Addison Donohoe, her “chickies.” Meg was often heard to say “the best thing about living this long is being able to see my grandchildren grow and my great grandbabies come along. They have brought me such joy.” Meg was also the sister of the late Gertrude, Paul, Raymond, and Sr. Jacqueline Lemieux, S.U.S.C. TAUNTON – Mabel F. (Costa) Braga, former wife of the late Henry R. Braga, died peacefully on May 31, 2015, at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Taunton, after a period of failing health. She was 95. Born in Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Eva (Corey) Costa. Educated in Taunton schools, she was employed at the former Kerr Mills and Harvey Prober Company. Mabel was an avid ballroom dancer and traveled extensively throughout MA and RI to dance, using the Arthur Murray Dance technique. Survivors include a son, Henry A. Braga and his wife Deborah J. of Taunton; two grandchildren, Justin H. and Kristin J. Braga of Taunton; 3 sisters, Cynthia Medeiros of Taunton, Thelma Pierce of Dighton, and Shirley Moyer of NC; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert Costa, Eva Costa, and Winnifred Ellis. Judith E. (Gomes) Sirois of Taunton, formerly of Brockton, died at New England Sinai Hospital on May 31, 2015. She was 73. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Gladys M. (Chubbuck) Gomes. Raised and educated in Brockton, she lived in Taunton for the past thirty-four years. Judy enjoyed crocheting and knitting baby clothing as well as hats and mittens which she donated to the St. Vincent DePaul Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos. Survivors include two sons, Mark E. Sirois and his wife Kimberly of Carver and Norman Sirois, Jr. and his wife Laurie of N. Dighton; three sisters, Gloria Pike and Patricia Gomes, both of Brockton and Cynthia Jacobs of Holbrook; five grandchildren, Justin, Trevor, Mark, Lauren and Sarah Sirois; a great grandson, Jaxon Sirois; and many nieces and nephews. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a bus monitor for TCM Transportation. She was previously employed at Texas Instruments in Attleboro. Therese enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Parish in Taunton. In addition to her husband, she leaves: 2 sons: Alyre R. Bourque of Taunton, and Michael J. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Anne Marie (Grundy) Murphy of Taunton. Arthur was born in Providence and was a graduate of Msgr Coyle High School class of 1952. He was the son of the late Arthur J. Sr. & Elizabeth A. (Fair) Murphy. Arthur served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a machinist in ship building. Arthur enjoyed working on cars, tinkering and fixing all things around the house and spending time with his family and grand dogs Princes, Nick and Maggie. In addition to his wife Arthur also leaves his children Arthur J. Murphy III of Taunton, Kevin P. Murphy of Taunton and the late John R. and Dennis P. Murphy. He also leaves his sister Marita Fair Murphy of Taunton and the late Sister Mary Elizabeth Murphy and Sister Rosemarie Murphy and Thomas F. Murphy. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Tuesday, June 23rd at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 5-8 pm. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
