Taunton– Claire A. (Roberson) Galuski, wife of the late Walter Galuski, died at the Marian Manor on March 11, 2015. She was 79. Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Adeline (Duarte) Roberson. A 1953 graduate of Taunton High School, Claire was employed as a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1996. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed duckpin bowling in the PACC League, and trips to Foxwoods Casino. She leaves four sons, Walter Galuski, Jr. of FL, James E. Galuski of Taunton, Joseph A. Galuski of Ohio, and Robert B. Galuski of East Taunton; a brother, Francis Roberson of Wellfleet; two sisters, Margaret Roberson of Wareham, and Linda Conlon of Plymouth; five grandchildren, a great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. John V. Amaral, Jr., of Taunton, died Tuesday, March 17 at his residence following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Theresa A. (Alvilhiera) Amaral. He was born 82 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late John V. and Mary (Garcia) Amaral, Sr. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Taunton Vocational High School, and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a carpenter for Wheaton College, Norton, for 20 years. While employed by the former Diniz Construction Co., he took great pride in the many houses he built. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Korean War. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and also enjoyed his pets, gardening, and especially sending time with his grandchildren. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton. In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 son: John M. Amaral of Taunton; 2 daughters: Terri Daley of Taunton, and Andrea Correia and her husband, Alfred of Taunton; 2 brothers: Joseph Amaral of Taunton and Richard Amaral of Miss.; 4 grandchildren: Justine, Ethan, and Kasey Correia, and Taylor Daley; 1 great grandson: Brody Correia, and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, March 20 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In Taunton, March 19, 2015 Aniceto O. DeCosta, Age 98, passed away in his home following a brief illness. Aniceto was preceded in death by his loving spouses Natalie Decosta and Mabel (Gonsalves) DeCosta. He was born in Brazil, the son of the late Francisco and Josephine DeCosta. Aniceto has resided in Taunton most of his life. He worked as a farmer, raised chickens and enjoyed bull fighting, eating, and reminiscing with friends and family. Aniceto leaves his companion of ten years Filomena DeFreitas of Taunton. His brother Oscar Gouveia of N.C. and his late brother Frank Ormando. He also leaves his niece Ellie Amaral of Rehoboth and nephew Tony Paiva of East Providence. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Monday, March 23rd at 10 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church at 11 am. TAUNTON – Rita M. (Cullingworth) Duffy, wife of the late James H. Duffy, Jr. died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on March 17, 2015. She was 92. Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary-Ellen (Corcoran) Cullingworth. Raised and educated in Pawtucket, Rita graduated from Tolman High School and attended the Pawtucket Memorial School of Nursing. She moved to the Taunton area in 1957. A homemaker for most of her adult life, she was previously employed by the former Kilburn Glass and the Taunton Dog Track. She had also worked as a seamstress for the Providence Performing Arts Center. A member of the former St. Paul Women’s Guild, she was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church and member of the St. Jude Women’s Guild. She leaves three sons, James H. Duffy, III of Raynham, Keavin P. Duffy, Sr. of Taunton and Brian M. Duffy of Denver, CO; two daughters, Patricia J. Donovan of Fall River and Mary F. Braga of Taunton; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson. She was also mother of the late Matthew J. Duffy and the grandmother of the late Sgt. Shane Duffy. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, March 21st at 7:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Taunton at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mt. She was the beloved wife of George DeCosta, Jr. She was born 29 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of Bonnie (St.Martin) Connors and the late John Connors. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Elizabeth was formerly employed as a Dietary Aide at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater and at The Maples in Wrentham. She was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed her computer. TAUNTON – Joseph Faria, 90, of Taunton, died peacefully at the Taunton Nursing Home on March 21, 2015, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Evelyn (Martin) Faria, to whom he was married to for the past sixty-nine years. Born in Taunton, Joe was the son of the late Manuel and Virginia (Ferris) Faria. He was raised in Berkley and attended Bristol County Agricultural High School. He later served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. He also competed as a heavyweight boxer and had a reputation for being “as tough as nails”. Employed by Taunton State Hospital, where he was the President of the Union and a plumber, he retired many years ago. Joe also enjoyed farm work and was a full-time farmer. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and soccer. He will be remembered as a very kind and generous man. In addition to his wife, Joe leaves a son, Michael Faria and his wife Donna of Taunton; two brothers, Manuel Faria of Taunton and Richard Faria of Berkley; a daughter-in-law, Linda Faria of Buzzards Bay; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also father of the late Joey Faria and brother of the late Daniel and George Faria. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, March 26th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Evelyn (Barreto) Mocciolo age 57 of Taunton died Saturday March 21, 2015. She was the loving mother of Shaun P. Mocciolo and his wife Katie of Taunton and grandmother of Everett Marco Mocciolo. Evelyn was born and raised in New York City a daughter of Juan Barreto of Puerto Rico and the late Celia Nazario. She had resided in Taunton for the past four years and previously lived in the Boston and Brockton areas. Evelyn had been a secretary at the VA Medical Center in Brockton and Boston Catholic Charities. In her free time she enjoyed music and dancing. Evelyn’s true joy in life was her family especially spending time with her grandson. In addition to her son and his family she is survived by her siblings Angel Perea of New York City, Norma Perea of Boston, Wilson Perea of Ohio, Lilly Perea of New York City, William Perea of Boston, Edwin Perea of Brockton, Albert Barreto of New York City, Amiee Barreto of Maryland and the late Jose “Tony” Barreto. Mrs. Anita M. (Lagace) Taylor, of Taunton, died Tuesday, March 24 at the Golden Living Center, Attleboro, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Taylor. She was born 61 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Roland A. and Theresa M.R. (Lambert) Lagace. She was educated in Taunton, was a graduate of Newbury College, and had been a lifelong city resident. Anita was formerly employed as an Administrative Assistant at the Paul A. Dever State School for a number of years. She had a deep love for her family, and enjoyed spending time and caring for her extended family of pets. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton. In addition to her husband, she leaves: 1 daughter: Renee Taylor and her husband, Eddy of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. TAUNTON – Maria Rosario (Cabral) Matos, wife of the late Manuel G. Matos, died at home with her family by her side on March 23, 2015. She was 90 years old. Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Mariano and Silvana (Soares) Cabral. Mrs. Matos was employed as a machine operator by the former Robertson Curtain Factory for several years. A member of the Taunton Portuguese Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Maria enjoyed sewing, gardening, music, reading the Bible; and especially spending time with her family. Survivors include four sons, Weber De Matos and his wife Idalia of Taunton, Eduard C. Matos and his wife Lucia of Ontario, Canada, Ivo Matos and his wife Saulina of Taunton, Joao Matos and his wife Adriana of Ontario, Canada; a daughter, Lidia Lourenco and her husband Luis of Taunton; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also grandmother of the late Weber M. Matos and sister of the late Joao, Manuel, Jose and Conceicao Cabral. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Florence (Barlow) Johnson. Raised and educated in Taunton, she was a 1965 graduate of Taunton High School and a 1966 graduate of the Brockton Beauty Academy. Darlene owned and operated Darlene’s Beauty Shop for many years, and was later employed by Hallsmith Sysco as a data entry clerk. A communicant of Raynham’s St. Ann Church, she retired several years ago. Survivors include two sons, Darrell S. Costa and his wife Jennifer and Derrick Costa, all of Taunton; a daughter, Tammy Martell and her husband Frank of Raynham; a brother, Ben Johnson of Japan; three sisters, Debra Bernard of CA; Kathleen Vactor of AZ and Laverne Petway of NC; five grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Mia, Tristan and Deven; and several nieces and nephews. She loved animals and gardening and used her artistic talent for the enjoyment of her family. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Matthew H. and Annie L. (DeCosta) Goulart. He was a lifelong Taunton resident. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Dicky worked as a self-employed flooring installer for many years. He enjoyed traveling, cruising, playing cards, camping, especially in New Hampshire and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Paul was the loving father of Christine Curran of Taunton, Wendy Vickey of Rehoboth, Ma., Paul St.Onge, Jr. of Navarre, Fl., and Cindy St.Onge of Old Hickory, Tn., and the twin brother of Paulette Strojny Rozen of Taunton. He was the son of the late Normand and Mary Jane (Paul) St.Onge and the brother of the late Charles St.Onge. Paul was born and educated in Taunton and made a career at Wyman Gordon in North Grafton until he relocated to Florida in 1992. He was a talented woodworker and mechanic and started a business of his own in Navarre, Fl. In addition to his children and sister, he leaves his companion, Carol Jacobs, and his dear friends, Mark and Cindy Callen, as well as 6 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Henry P. “Hank” Beaulieu, of Taunton, died Saturday, April 11 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Schindelwig) Beaulieu for 63 years. He was born 88 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Henry and Mary Rose (Proulx) Beaulieu. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Henry had been employed as a Stationary Fireman for the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant for 34 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Trinidad during World War II, and aboard the USS Beatty during the Korean War. Henry loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, watching the Patriots, reading and the outdoors. He was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Parish in Taunton. In addition to his wife, he leaves: 2 sons: Steven Beaulieu and his wife, Diana of Taunton, and Barry Beaulieu of Taunton; 2 daughters: Karen Beaulieu and her partner, Michelle Wheeler of Coral Gables, Fla., and Joan Bosh and her husband, Michael of Taunton; 1 brother: Paul Beaulieu and his wife, Joan of Ct.; 1 sister: Claire Hathaway of Taunton; 5 grandchildren: Matthew, Luke and Brett Beaulieu, David Bosh and his wife, Lisa, and Carly Bosh;1 great grandson: Alex Bosh, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Laurent Beaulieu of Florida. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, April 15 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
