In Boston, January 8, 2015 Maria J. DeJesus, Age 60, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, following a lengthy illness while surrounded by her loving family. Maria is survived by her husband Jose F. De Jesus of Taunton. Maria was born in Madeira, Portugal, the daughter of the late Jose & Celestina (Nunes) De Andrade. Maria has resided in Taunton for the past 34 years. She was employed at the former Leach & Garner Co. in North Attleboro. Maria enjoyed cooking, baking, going to the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament in New Bedford annually and above all loved being with her family. In addition to her husband, Maria leaves her children Christina Da Costa and her husband Jose of Taunton, Joe G. De Jesus and his wife Lina of New Bedford and Rita Oller and her husband Russell of Taunton. Maria also leaves her grandchildren Nicholas De Jesus, Kayla Beauvias, Bianca Ferreira, Jacob Fisher, Lia De Jesus and Ava De Jesus. Maria also leaves her three siblings from Madeira, Portugal and many nieces and nephews and friends. TAUNTON – Euclides DaVeiga of Taunton died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston on January 5, 2015. He was 73. Born in Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Leao and Angela (Amelia) DaVeiga. A retired maintenance man, he was employed by Providence College for many years. In his spare time, Mr. DaVeiga enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards and spending time with his family. Survivors include four sons, Tony L. DaVeiga, Jorge L. DaVeiga, Felisberto DaVeiga and Jose DaVeiga; a daughter, Graciete DaVeiga; four brothers, Joao, Alcides, Aquiles and Manuel O. In Taunton, January 10, 2015 Mildred A. Noonan, Age 86, passed away at home following a period of failing health. Mildred was the wife of the late Thomas F. Noonan. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie (Newton) Schefer. Mildred was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of Taunton High School. After graduation she worked at the Naples hotel in Naples FL and the Poland Springs resort in ME, followed by working for New England Telephone and Taunton Savings Bank. Besides her love of her family, Mildred enjoyed playing classical music on the piano and listening to Frank Sinatra and attending many of his shows over the years. She also very much enjoyed her visits to the island of Bermuda. She also enjoyed spending time and going to lunch with her very close friends. She was a life long member of St Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton. Mildred is survived by her children Timothy P. Noonan and his wife Anne Marie of Taunton and Elisabeth A. (Noonan) Blouin and her husband David of Weare NH. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ian Noonan of Westfield MA, Meaghan (Noonan) Valley of Taunton, Caitlin Blouin of Goffstown NH, Matthew Blouin of Weare NH and Annalise Blouin of Weare NH. TAUNTON – Manuel B. Inacio, husband of Josefa F. (Da Rocha) Inacio, died at Morton Hospital on Jan. 11, 2015. He was 75. Born in Terceira, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao and Adelina (Cabral) Inacio. Raised and educated in the Azores, and a veteran of the Portuguese Army, Mr. Inacio moved to the Taunton area in 1968. He was employed by Taunton State Hospital in the housekeeping department for many years before retiring several years. In his spare time, Mr. Inacio enjoyed gardening, masonry work and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He resided in Taunton his entire life. Anthony was employed for Advanced Dye Technologies in Taunton where he was a supervisor and Leer Metalizing Co. in Franklin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and was an avid cribbage player winning many competitions. Anthony is survived by his son Anthony Pacheco III of Holden, Ma and his late son Steven Pacheco. He also leaves his siblings Joseph Pacheco of Taunton, John Pacheco of Bridgewater, Dianne Menzies of Taunton and the late Edward Pacheco. TAUNTON – Richard F. Amaral, husband of the late Irene M. (Nevius) Amaral, died peacefully at Morton Hospital on Jan. 11, 2015 at the age of 86. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Silva) Amaral. A lifelong resident of Taunton, Mr. Amaral attended Taunton schools and later served in the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He also served in the Army National Guard. A union carpenter with Local Union 860 for twenty years, he was subsequently employed by Boston Insulated Wire. Richard faithfully and lovingly cared for his late wife for the fifty years they were married. He was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing, boating and other outdoor recreational activities. Survivors include two daughters, Ann-Marie Howlett and her husband Roger, Jr. of Lakeville and Christine Guiliano and her husband Christopher of Wareham; two brothers, David Amaral and his wife Gail of Taunton and Frank Amaral and his wife Julie of VT; a granddaughter, Ashley Rubini and her husband Giuliano of Lakeville; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Joseph Amaral and Barbara Silveira. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Jan. 20th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary Church, Taunton at 9:45 a.m. Burial will be at the MA National VA Cemetery in Bourne. TAUNTON – Elizabeth “Elsie” (Cambra) Griffith, 92, passed away at Taunton’s Marian Manor on Jan. 18, 2015 following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Tilmon J. Griffith, with whom she shared over sixty years of marriage and many a long car trip from Maine to Kentucky. Born in Dighton, Elsie was the daughter of the late Francisco and Mary (Perry Suite) Cambra. She attended Dighton schools and lived most of her life in Taunton. Elsie was never happier than when she had her family together at the table for dinner. An avid farmer, she always had a large garden whose produce was canned for later use. Skilled in needlework, Elsie was a communicant of Holy Family Church where she was very active with the parish’s Holy Ghost Society in her earlier years. Survivors include two sons, Dr. James T. Griffith and his wife Dr. Susan J. Leclair of Dartmouth and Richard Griffith and his wife Carol Ann of Taunton; two granddaughters, Kimberly A. Griffith and her husband Benjamin Jones of New Bedford and Richalie Demaine and her husband Robert of Edgewood, WA; three great grandchildren, Abigale, Jonathan and Dylan Griffith, all of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Frank, Anthony and John Cambra, Mary Cunha, Elmina Gallego, Rose Tavers, Wilma and Florence Moitoza, Gladys Benevides, Clara Gouveia, and Dorothy and Louise Catabia. She was educated in Maine and had been a Taunton resident for the past 67 years. Rita was a Life Member of the Chester A. Bearse Post #405 American Legion Womens Auxiliary in Raynham, and was a past member of the Bristol Salon of the “40 and 8’s.” She enjoyed donating her time and efforts in assisting veterans, and helping the homeless. She leaves: 2 sons: Robert H. “Bob” Beaulieu of Rockford, Ill., and Gary R. Beaulieu of Mashpee, Ma.; 1 daughter: Linda J. Lehouillier and her husband, George of Taunton; 1 sister: Mabel Poulin of Lewiston, Me., 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Beyond her sons Karen enjoyed spending time with extended family, friends, and her cat Baby Girl. She had a deep connection to the ocean and her art. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Gilda (Raposa) Falcao. Benny moved to this area in 1968. A retired machine operator, he worked for Texas Instruments for over thirty-five years. He enjoyed soccer and was an avid fan of Benfica of Lisbon, and also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. In his spare time, Jose enjoyed gardening, which he did until the age of 90. He enjoyed daily walks and trips to the beach; and enjoyed and had a keen interest in animals of all kinds. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. In East Taunton, January 27, 2015 Robert Aranjo husband of Patricia (Rocha) Aranjo for over fifty six years died at his home with his family by his side at the age of 74. Born and educated in Taunton, Robert was the son of the late Joseph Correia and Mary Brouillette. Robert joined the US Army serving during the Korean War. He worked as a constable and security guard in his younger years, he then worked for Paul A. Dever State School for thirty years. Robert loved fixing and re-building computers. Robert was the father of Robert Aranjo, Christina Lavigne and her husband Mike, James Aranjo, Donna Giroux and her husband Mike, Laurie Fortin, Sandy Aranjo, Joshua Aranjo, Mark Aranjo, Jennifer Aranjo, Nyaisha Almeida and the late Norma-Jean Santos and Patricia Lara. Grandfather of twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Brother of William Aranjo, Richard Westgate, Sheila Burgess and the late James and Joseph Aranjo.
