TAUNTON – Jacinto B. Paiva, husband of Maria (Pacheco) Paiva, died at his Taunton home on April 12, 2014. He was 87. Born in Ribera Grande, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary Jo (Barboza) Paiva. A Taunton resident for the past forty years, Mr. Paiva resided in Canada for several years. He was most recently employed by the Universal Construction Company until retiring in 1990. Previously, he had worked for the former Cochrane Shoe Company. An avid gardener, Mr. enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, Saulina Ferreira and her husband Emanuel, and Judith Guilbeault and her husband Daniel, all of East Taunton, and Valentina Paiva of Taunton; two sisters, Isabelle Saopaio and Mary Jo DeMello, both of Canada; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late John and Jose Lima. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday April 16th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church, East Taunton at10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Ruth Frances Buttermore, 95, passed surrounded in love by her family on April 14, 2014. Ruth was the loving wife of the late Albert Buttermore. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Manuel & Anna (Brown) Butler. She was a lifelong resident of Taunton, educated in the Taunton School and a 1936 graduate of Taunton High School. She was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church. Ruth worked at Camp Myles Standish during World War II as a payroll clerk and retired after forty years as a medical secretary in the Morton Hospital group. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed decorative artwork, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family. Ruth is survived by her son Bruce J. Buttermore and his wife Mary of Taunton. She leaves her grandsons, Timothy of Middleboro, Jeffrey of Richmond, VA, and Kenneth of Albany, NY. She also leaves one granddaughter, Leigh Lefaivre of Taunton. Ruth loved her five great-grandchildren dearly; Allyson, Kyle, and Emily Buttermore of Lakeville and William and Thomas Lefaivre of Taunton. Ruth was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Philip Butler, and three sisters, Helen Bettencourt, Ethel Ryan, and Esther Dumont. She is survived by one brother, Kenneth Butler of Lakeville and many nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Thursday, April 17th at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Weds. from 4-7 pm. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. A Memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 8:30 am. to which all are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be in honor of Thomas P. Lefaivre at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children. In Taunton, April 17, 2013 Robert A. Dion, Age 86 passed away in Longmeadow Nursing Home unexpectedly. Robert was born in Taunton, the son of the late George & Helen (Corr) Dion. He lived all of his life in Taunton. Robert was educated in Taunton schools and later served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed at the former Paul E. Dever State School working as a manager in the food service Department. Robert was a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Taunton,the American Legion and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Cape Cod Baseball League games. Robert is survived by his brother George Dion and his wife M. Carol Dion of Taunton and his late sister Dorothy Dion and late half brother David Sibor. He leaves his late and longtime friend Julie Phillips of Taunton. He also leaves his former wife Helen Dion of Oxford, FL. Robert is survived by his four nieces Mary E. Doyle of Weymouth, Catherine H. Eddlem of Taunton, Susan A. Turgeon of Cranberry Township, PA and Patricia D. Parent of Taunton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 21st at 11 am. in the Annunciation of the Lord Church in Taunton. In Yarmouthport, April 17, 2014 Richard E. Puccini, Age 76 passed away at home following a brief illness while surrounded by his loving family. Richard is survived by his wife Eleanor “Ellie” (McGlynn) Puccini of Yarmouthport. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Julio & Clotilde (Bisio) Puccini. Richard has resided in Yarmouthport since 1998 and was formerly of Taunton. He was educated in Taunton schools and attended classes at both Northeastern University and Bryant College. Richard served his country in the Army National Guard. He was employed as an engineer for Texas Instruments. Richard was a member of the Sons of Italy and enjoyed quahogging, Cape Cod, playing bocce, gardening, yardwork, taking long drives and above all cherished his time with family. Richard is survived by his children Richard Puccini and his wife Jacqueline, MaryAnn LeBrun and her husband Daniel, Jeffrey Puccini and his wife Christine and Lynn Puccini Green. He also leaves his grandchildren Kristen Wells, Erin and Jill LeBrun, Jenifer, Kyla, Nicole, Gretchen Puccini and Sarah and Ericka Green and his great granddaughter Ella Wells. Born in Taunton, Scott was raised in Berkley and was educated in Taunton and Berkley schools. He was employed as a hair stylist in Taunton and Norton area salons for many years before retiring due to disability. An active volunteer, Scott was involved with Pathways and Meals on Wheels for many years and was seeking other areas in which to volunteer. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, gardening and raising rabbits. His greatest joy was helping others. In addition to his parents, he leaves his stepfather, Charles B. Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Augusta (Silva) Camara. A resident of the area since 1942, and homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Teixeira was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church. Survivors include a daughter, Anita L. Flanagan of Taunton; two brothers, Joseph Camara of Raynham and Antonio Camara and his wife Betty of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Augusta Andrade of Somerset and Gabriela Hoffman and her husband Keith of Raynham; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In Taunton, April 19, 2014 Wanda Teixeira Age 90, passed away peacefully in Marian Manor Nursing Home. Wanda was preceded in death by her first husband Antoni Marko and her second husband Christopher Teixeira. She was born in Poland, the daughter of the late Josef Ciula and Marguerite (Dulak) Cuila. Wanda came to this country in 1951 through the kindness of her family, the Dulak’s of Berkley and has resided in Taunton. She was employed as an inspector for Princess House and Dycraftsmen Co. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Taunton. Wanda enjoyed gardening, cooking but above all cherished her time with family. Wanda leaves her three children Stanley Marko and his wife Cheryl of Taunton, Antonina “Toni” Angus and her husband Keith of Dighton and Rosemarie Silva and her husband Manuel of Taunton. She also leaves her grandchildren Christine Kenny, Jennifer Scotti, Wanda Tow, Adam and Theresa Marko and her nine great grandchildren. TAUNTON – Paul Lynch, 62, of Taunton, died at the Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleboro on April 17, 2014. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Charles and Alice (Riley) Lynch. He was a graduate of Taunton High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era. He retired from the City of Taunton, having worked in maintenance for the Department of Parks, Cemeteries and Public Grounds for many years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include five brothers, Charles Lynch Jr. of Raynham, Barry Lynch of Saco, ME, and James, Jeffrey and Thomas Lynch of Taunton; a sister, Charlene Mazetis of Taunton; longtime companion Kathy Pittore of Braintree; his dog, Max; and several nieces and nephews. TAUNTON – Norman G. Belanger, husband of Catherine M. (Duarte) Belanger of Taunton and previously, the husband of the late Edna M. (Legrow) Belanger,died at Longmeadow of Taunton on April 22, 2014. He was 89. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Harry O. and Lydia (Grenier) Belanger. A lifelong resident of Taunton, he was a 1943 graduate of Taunton High School, later serving on a submarine in the U.S. Navy during WW II. In 1986, he retired as Superintendent of Generation, after being employed by the TMLP for thirty years. Mr. Belanger was also a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church and remained devout in his faith. Mr. Belanger was an adored family patriarch, especially enjoying dinners, cook-outs, and gatherings with his family. An excellent cook, he was especially known for his homemade bread. In addition to his love of international travel and spending several winters in Florida with his wife, Mr. Belanger was also an avid reader and had a great interest in computers and technology. A history enthusiast, Mr. Belanger was well-read on many topics, especially the Civil War, enjoying visits to many of the war’s battlefields. Possessing a quiet sense of humor, an easy-going nature, and an intellect both inherent and attained through varied interests and experience, Mr. Belanger was a man with an ability to engage anyone in meaningful conversation. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Norman Belanger, Jr. and his wife, Roberta and Brian Belanger and his wife, Mary Beth; two daughters, Joan C. Kelley and her husband, John and Diane M. Clark and her husband, Dave; a brother, Harry R. Belanger, all of Taunton; and a daughter-in-law, Joan E. Belanger of New Jersey, widow of his late son, Ric Belanger; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several cousins. TAUNTON – Agnes “Ines” Barboza, a lifelong resident of the area, died peacefully at her Taunton home on April 23, 2014. She was 90 years old. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Antonio B. Pina and the late Eugenia (Barboza) Duarte. She was also the sister of the late Antonio, Julio and Joseph Pina, and the late Mary Hyatt Nunes, Lillian Rodrigues, Adeline Miranda and Mabel Nereu. She resided for many years with her sister Lillian, brother-in-law, Daniel Rodrigues and niece, Dona. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Daniel Rodrigues and sister-in-law, Lidia Pina and several nieces and nephews. Recently, Agnes resides at SRS Home in Taunton and thrived under a caring staff. She attended classes daily for many years at BAMSI/Lakeville Rehab in Lakeville. Agnes loved children, her dolls, jewelry, pretty clothes and her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Viveiros Braga. She was born 96 years ago in Santa Maria, Portugal, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Soares) Bairos. She was educated in Portugal, immigrated to Hudson, Ma. in 1968, and had been a Taunton resident since 1996. Prior to her retirement, Maria had been employed at the Hudson Lock Company for a number of years. She was a former communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Hudson. She leaves: 3 daughters: Maria C. Loura of Taunton, Maria A. Frias and her husband, John of Taunton, and Delia M. Vetter of Boston; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson, on Wednesday, April 30 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Joseph was a retired Aviation Metal Smith at the New Bedford Airport. He was a lifetime member of the Taunton VFW post 611. Joseph was the brother of Mary Hoye of Taunton and the late Francis Perry. Uncle of Rowena Bishop of California, Donna O’Brien of Maine, Dr. E. Paul Silvia of Alaska and Michael Parry of Martha Vineyard. Service will be private at the connivance of the family.

In Taunton, April 29, 2014 Francis H. Perry, age 92, passed away in Morton Hospital following a lengthy period of failing health. Francis was the loving husband of Jeanne V. (Judge) Perry. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Frank & Eliza (Arsenault) Perry. Francis has resided in Taunton most of his life. He served his country in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Francis attended St. Michael’s Grammer and High School in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from the former Bentley School of Accounting, now Bentley College. Following the Merchant Marines, he later worked for several local companies as a accountant and also a broker in Real Estate. He was a member of the Elk’s and enjoyed pen and ink drawing and was an avid reader. In addition to his wife, Francis leaves his son Michael Perry of Martha’s Vineyard. He also leaves his siblings Mary Hoye of Taunton and the late Joseph A. Perry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Family Church in East Taunton on Saturday, May 3rd at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours prior to his mass at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, MA from 9:30-10:30 am. In Taunton, May 3, 2014 Edward F. Duarte, Age 72, passed away in his home with his loving family by his side. Edward was born in Taunton, the son of the late Frank & Phoebe (Frates) Duarte. He attended Taunton schools and was a graduate of Stonehill College in Easton. Edward served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corps and later during Desert Storm. He was a police officer, retiring after 30 years from the Taunton Police Department. Edward served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Taunton Federal Credit Union, also a member of the VFW. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing and traveling, especially to the Caribbean and above all cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. Edward leaves his children Sharon Masterson and her husband Richard of Berkley, Edward F. Duarte Jr. of Taunton, Jennifer Duarte of Taunton, Melissa Foley and her husband William of Taunton, Heidi Duarte of Taunton and his late daughter Heather Duarte. He also leaves his grandchildren Joshua, Steven and Courtney Masterson, Megan McMurray, Harrison Mattos, Sophia Foley, Rebecca White and John Pilling. Edward also is survived by his siblings Catherine Bellanger and Evelyn Perry both of Boston and Alfred Duarte, he was preceded in death by his other eight siblings. Prior to his illness, Donald had been employed at the former Rennie Curtain Company of Taunton for many years. He enjoyed watching football and spending time with his grandsons. He leaves: 1 daughter; Michele Keyes and her husband, Jeffrey of Taunton and 2 grandsons: Brandon Keyes and Jeffrey Keyes, Jr., both of Taunton. A Celebration of Donald’s life will be held at a time and date to be announced. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.

In Boston of Taunton, May 5, 2014 Gerald J. Reardon husband of the late Eleanor (McAvoy) Reardon died at St Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston at the age of 85. Born and educated in Taunton, Gerald was the son of the late Patrick and Mary (Donahue) Reardon. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Gerald was retired from the Foxboro Company as a Calibrator. He enjoyed going out to eat, playing golf and spending time with his family. Gerald is survived by many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Friday, May 9th from 10:30-11:30 AM. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 AM. Interment St Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
