Mrs. Raquel K. (Allen) Bogardus, of Taunton, died Wednesday, April 2 in Merrimack, N.H. following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Brian Bogardus. She was born 45 years ago in Pompton Plains, N.J., the daughter of Warren and Gail (Padgett) Allen. She was educated in New Hampshire and had been a Taunton resident for the past 20 years. Raquel served many Senior Executive Management leaders and Board Members from many of the companies we all know – Bank of America, Ocean Spray, and GMAC. In addition to her husband and her parents, she leaves: 2 sons: Cody and Austin Bogardus, both of Taunton; 2 brothers: Marcus Allen of New Hampshire, Terry Allen and his wife, Kim of Georgia; 1 sister: Kelly Doucet and her husband, Dave of New Hampshire, and several nieces and nephews. Raquel enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her first passion and priority in life. Raq was a wonderful young lady and a devoted mom with two awesome sons, Cody and Austin, which were the loves of her life. She has a wonderful husband, Brian, with whom she loved with her heart and soul. Raq’s world revolved around her boys and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. In her short time of 45 years on this earth, she was able to touch many lives through work, community service, and supporting friends and family in their endeavors. Each person she served is a better person for having known and worked with Raquel. Raq loved music; it set her soul free. She loved winter and summer sports at Mt. Sunapee, NH with her family and friends. Raq also loved spending time at the beach and in downtown Newport, RI. Growing up, Raq also enjoyed gymnastics. Raq loved to write poetry, she enjoyed sitting on her back deck enjoying a fire, with her favorite drink in hand, all while beating Brian at cards and living a passionate life to its fullest. Raq spent much of her free time in the yard, whether it was planting flowers in the spring or building a stone walkway, she really enjoyed working in the yard. Raq was very artistic and enjoyed exploring her creative side. Raquel’s passionate, loving, caring and compassionate spirit will be forever missed. Raq had a heart of gold, she was someone that loved an individual for who they were, and people in turn were drawn to her vibrant and larger than life persona. Raq could light up a room with her presence and people loved to be with her; she had one of those personalities that people enjoyed being around all the time. Raq will be forever missed. My family will miss her dearly. We loved her so very much. She was the heart and spirit of our family and her community – an incredible young lady who was selfless until her very last day.
