DUNEDIN, FL – Marion L. (Collins) Costa, wife of the late Edward Costa, died at Mease Continuing Care in Dunedin, FL on March 1, 2014. She was 85. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late William and Emily (Barros) Collins. She was a former employee of Norwell Manufacturing of East Taunton. A musician, Mrs. Costa played the ukulele, and was half of the singing duo, Grand Ma Ma’s. The duo toured area nursing homes, entertaining residents for 16 years. Mrs. Costa enjoyed water aerobics and playing golf and Bingo. Survivors include two sons, Edward Costa, Jr. of Lunenburg, MA, Barry Costa and his wife Carol of Kingman, AZ; a daughter, Shirley Ann Costa of Dunedin, FL; a brother, Kenneth “Shmushie” Collins of Swansea; two sisters, Christine Barboza of Taunton and Mary Jane McNulty of Pawtucket, RI; three grandsons, Adam, Aaron and Steven Costa; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Kevin Costa and the sister of the late William, Charles, Walter and Paul Collins. Her wake will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, March 7th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral mass. Interment will be private at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne.
