In Taunton, August 20, 2013, Dorothy “Nana” Cambra, age 95 passed away in Longmeadow Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frank Cambra. Dorothy was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Henry B. and Maria (Almeida) Souza. She has resided in Taunton all her life. Dorothy worked for the former Taunton Dress in Taunton and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Dorothy was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, she enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, the Red Sox and cherished her time with the grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter in law Maryann Cambra of Taunton and her late son Robert Cambra. Nana leaves her loving grandchildren Robert Cambra II and his husband John LeClair of Middleboro, Dawn Cambra of Taunton and Christopher Cambra and his wife Autumn of Athens, Texas and her great grandson Holden Cambra. Dorothy leaves her sister Gin Berard and her husband Al of Mansfield and was preceded in death by her siblings May Costa and Hilda Veloze. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Monday, August 26th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 5-7 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.

In Taunton, August 18, 2013 John F. Harrington, age 75, passed away at home following a lengthy illness while surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Sandra M. (Perry) Harrington of Taunton. John was born in Fall River, the son of the late John F. and Genevieve (Kenney) Harrington. He has resided in Taunton the past 40 years and was formerly of Fall River. John served his country in the U. S. Army. He worked as a supervisor for Trina Inc. until his retirement. John was a member of the P.A.C.C. , he enjoyed reading, computers, spending time with his nieces and nephews, his loyal companion and dog “Grubby” and above all cherished his time with family. John leaves his children Brian “Rusty” Harrington of Taunton, Jay Harrington and his wife Joy of Taunton and Jodi Bisio and her husband Luke of Raynham. John also leaves his grandchildren Aiden Harrington and Skyla Nelligan. His late siblings Patricia Harrington and Christopher Harrington. John also leaves several friends and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, August 24th from 2-4 pm. Burial will be in Bourne National Cemetery at a time to be announced.

RAYNHAM – Edna M. (Nadeau) Costa, wife of the late Manuel E. Costa and the late Wilfred Bombardier, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013.
She was 96.
Born, raised and educated in Raynham, she was the daughter of the late Condy and Eva (Chappron) Nadeau.
Employed as a Stitcher for Rennie’s Curtain Factory for many years, she retired in 1982.
A communicant of Holy Family Church and Past President of the Holy Family Women’s Guild, Mrs. Costa was a 2002 recipient of the Marian Medal Award.
She was a former Activities Director of the Sociable Seniors of Raynham and member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include a son, Roger Bombardier and his wife Maureen of Swansea; a daughter, Barbara Rice and her husband William of Raynham; a brother, Edward Nadeau of IL; a sister, Yvonne Quinlan of Raynham; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Condy, Alfred, Orell, Leo, William, Albert, Anna, Ida, Florence, Rena and Rita.
Services were held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church, Capital Campaign, P.O. Box 619, East Taunton, MA 02718.

In Taunton, August 24, 2013 “Peggy” Margaret A. Silver, age 70 passed away in her home following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, while surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born in Taunton, the daughter of Raymond D. Desrosiers of Taunton and the late Margaret (Kingsbury) Desrosiers. She has resided in Taunton all her life. Peggy retired recently from Stonehill College in Stoughton. Peggy enjoyed traveling, visiting Disney, Cape Cod, Notre Dame University, her involvement in charitable activities with Coyle Cassidy High School and above all cherished her time with family. Peggy leaves her longtime friend and companion Dick O’Dowd of Taunton. Her children Jeffrey Silver of Taunton, Tim Silver and Beth Brouillard of Middleboro and David Silver and Rebecca of Taunton. Peggy also leaves her grandchildren Ethan Silver, Alicia Silver and Meaghan McCarthy. Her siblings Barry Desrosiers and his wife Kathy of Taunton and Susan Desrosiers and Donald Blackwell of Taunton. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and many close friends. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, August 29th at 9 am. In Taunton, August 23, 2013 Stephen J. Thrasher, age 44 passed away suddenly in Morton Hospital in Taunton. Stephen was born in Taunton, the son of his loving mother Elizabeth “Beryl” Thrasher and his late father Robert A. Thrasher. Stephen has resided all his life in East Taunton except for his time in the military. He attended Taunton schools and received his associate’s degree from Bristol Community College. Stephen served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the former commander and chaplain for the Berkley American Legion, Post#121. He enjoyed the Patriots, video games, traveling to Scotland and his family and friends. Stephen leaves his bother Bob Thrasher and his wife Terry of East Taunton. He also leaves several Aunts and Uncles both here in the U.S. and in Scotland and many friends. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Friday, August 30th at 8:30 am. TAUNTON – Estrella (Medeiros) Porto, wife of the late Manuel V. Porto, died at Morton Hospital on Aug. 28, 2013.
She was 97.
Born in East Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Manuel D. and Maria (Viveiros) Medeiros.
Raised and educated in St. Michael, Azores, she moved to the Taunton area in 1949.
A retired seamstress, Mrs. Porto was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Sebastian M. Porto and his wife Mary of East Providence, RI, Joseph D. Porto and his wife Sandy of Houston, TX, and Michael Porto and his wife Emily of Raynham; a daughter, Mary Adriana “Angie” Carter and her husband Paul of Falmouth; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Porto was also the grandmother of the late Adam J. Carter, and was the predeceased by a brother and a sister.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday Sept. 3rd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

TAUNTON – Balbina “Bella” (Francis) Aranjo of Taunton, 94, died at Morton Hospital on Aug. 26, 2013.
Born in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Antonia (Martin) Francis.
Bella was educated in Cambridge schools and moved to Taunton when she married her late husband, Joseph Aranjo in 1940.
They were married for sixty-six years.
Bella was employed at Lever Brothers and also sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry.
She also worked at Texas Instruments until retiring.
Bella enjoyed the ocean, especially White Horse Beach in Plymouth, and also loved reading and music.
She was the loving mother of five children, Joseph Aranjo, Barry Aranjo and his wife Betty, Diane Reckard, and Joanne Rinderer all of Taunton; and Barry Ricketts of GA.
She leaves six grandchildren, Rashelle Hicks, Barry Aranjo, Jr., Derek Reckard, Laurie Jackson, and Aaron Reckard, all of Taunton; and Joseph Aranjo, III of CA; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Francis of NH; a sister, Rose Simmons of Queens, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Manuel Franca, Mary Napini and John Francis.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Sept. 4th at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

In Raynham, August 31, 2013 Joseph Silvia age 90 passed away in his home suddenly, following a period of failing health. Joseph was the husband of the late Delta (Araujo) Silvia. He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel & Phoebe Silvia. Joseph has resided in Raynham the past nine months and was formerly of Taunton. He served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army. Joseph worked as a silversmith for the former F.B. Rogers Co., after his retirement for the Bloom Bus Co. in Taunton and also the Chief for the former Taunton Police Auxilliary. Joseph is survived by his children Joseph Silvia and his wife Sharon of Buzzards Bay and Shirley Ellis and her husband Kevin of Raynham. He also leaves his grandchildren Kelly Hewitt of Hyannis and Jodi Maurer of East Longmeadow Ma and his five great grandchildren. Joseph is survived by his siblings Daniel Silvia of New Bedford and Phoebe Viera of Raynham and his late siblings Manuel Silvia, Adeline Silvia, Alice Perry, Claudia Viera, Mary Silvia, Geraldine Prairie, David Silvia, John Mello and Gabriel Silvia. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cards, baseball and above all cherished his time with family. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd at 11 am. at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, Ma 02780. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.

TAUNTON – Leopauldinia “Jean” (Perry) Barros, former wife of the late Philip N. Barros, died at the Marian Manor in Taunton on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
She was 89.
Born in Dighton, she was raised and educated in Taunton and was a former communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Barros enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and will be remembered as a great cook.
Survivors include four sons, Edward Lopes of Berkley, Manuel Barros of Taunton, Enrico Barros of New Bedford, and Donsisco Barros of Pawtucket, RI; six daughters, Katherine Barros of Florida, Phyllis McLeod of Taunton, Linda Johnson of Taunton, Rachelle Silva of Pawtucket, RI, Charmayne Kelly of Taunton and Carmen Barros of California; three sisters, Julia Pina of Taunton, Dorothy Barros of East Taunton, and Margaret Barboza of New Bedford; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Michael, David and Roger Barros, Charles Perry, Cynthia Mauricio and Renee Barros; and the sister of the late William, Jack, Alfred, John, Leo, Frank, George, Robert and Roger Perry, Flora Burgo and Christine Reaves.
Her funeral will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Sept. 5th at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.

RAYNHAM – Dorothy G. (Medas) Lakin, wife of Lloyd T. Lakin of Raynham, died at Morton Hospital on Sept. 1, 2013.
She was 83.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Rose (DeMoura) Medas.
Raised and educated in Taunton, and a 1948 graduate of Taunton High School, she was a lifetime resident of the area.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Lakin was employed by the Norwell Lamp Company for several years.
She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Lourdes Church and former member the church’s Holy Rosary Sodality.
She also attended Holy Family Church.
An avid doll collector, she enjoyed gardening and outdoor hobbies including bird watching.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Scott F. Jacobs of Raynham; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Gary J. Jacobs, and the sister of the late Albert and Robert Medas.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Sept. 6th at 12 noon.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon, prior to the commencement of services.

Fairbanks Jr. She was born in Dighton, the daughter of the late Frank & Maria (Perry) Sylvia. A resident of Taunton for 75 years. Mary was a waitress for various restaurants in the area. Mary is survived by her beloved children George Fairbanks III, Douglas Fairbanks, Paul Fairbanks, Rosemary Fairbanks Gary, & the late Albert & Harold Fairbanks. She also leaves her Grandchildren Angela Jones, Alexis Balkey, Larry Fairbanks, Charisse Fairbanks Tulchinsky, Camille Fairbanks Babanikas, Also survived by 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home on Saturday, October 5th at 11 am Relatives & friends invited to attend. Bruce worked as a diesel mechanic and a truck driver for the Graziano Co. in Bridgewater. He was an avid NASCAR fan who loved Chevys, truck driving, visiting his friends in Wareham, fixing things around the home and spending time with friends and family. Bruce is survived by his brother Kevin Wilbur of Taunton. His grandfather John Coelho of Taunton and his late grandmother’s Bernice Coelho and Marian MaGuire. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, Sept. 6th at 7 pm.. TAUNTON – Filomena R. (Raposo) Andre, wife of the late Manuel Andre, died at her Taunton home on Sept. 3, 2013.
She was 91.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Tiofilo and Teresa (Resendes) Raposo, she had resided in Taunton since 1970.
A retired assembler, Mrs. Andre was employed by Texas Instruments for several years before retiring in 1993.
Previously, she had worked for the Frank Noone Shoe Company.
Mrs. Andre was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Survivors include two sons, Eduardo R. Andre of Assonet and Walter M. Andre of Canada; two daughters, Humberta M. Baptista of Taunton and Teresa M. Bravo of Toronto, Canada; three brothers, Tiofilo, Francisco and Rev. Eduardo Resendes, all of Canada; a sister, Rosa Pereira of Canada; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Luisa Bravo.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Sept. 7th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

She was 67.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Preston W. and Lanora (Danowicz) Smith.
A resident of the Taunton area since moving here as a child, she attended Taunton schools.
Mrs. Drew was employed as a personal care assistant for many years.
She retired several years ago.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Earl “Glen” Drew of Taunton; two daughters, Frances Christie of Kentucky and Geraldine Drew of Taunton; a sister, Bernice Pontes of East Taunton; two grandchildren, Kimberly M. Christie and Eljay Christie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was sixty years old.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John Vincent and Alice G. (Marchesseault) Oliver.
Mr. Oliver was educated in Fall River schools.
A retired custodian, he worked in the Taunton and Fall River areas for many years.
A resident of Taunton since 1973, he retired several years ago due to disability.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Mr. Oliver is survived by his wife Susan V. (Stewart) Oliver of Taunton.
Funeral Services are to be private.

Mrs. Janet M. (Conlon) Malloch, of East Taunton, died Friday, September 6 at her residence following a courageous battle, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born 73 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Peter A. and Marie Y. (Blain) Conlon. She was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of St. Anne’s Hospital School of Nursing in Fall River. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a Registered Nurse at the Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. She was also employed by several other area hospitals, and she ended her career as a Visiting Nurse. Janet was a member of the Greater Taunton Charitable Association, the Taunton Art Association, and the Old Colony Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, painting and her beloved dog, Tess. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Church in East Taunton.
She leaves: 4 sons: Joseph Malloch and his wife, Joanne of Berkley, Carl Malloch Jr. and his wife, Stephanie of Berkley, Michael Malloch and his wife, Gina of California, and Steven Malloch and his wife, Mary of Berkley; 1 daughter: Susan Taylor and her husband, William of East Taunton; 2 brothers: Peter Conlon and his wife, Linda of Plymouth and Raymond Conlon and his wife, Susan of Nantucket; a daughter-in-law: Audrey Malloch of Berkley; 11 grandchildren: Shana Taylor, Billy Taylor, Tonya Miller and her husband, Dan all of East Taunton, Alyssa, Michael, Rachel, CJ and Alison Malloch all of Berkley, Kendra Brown and Dawn Gay both of Maine, and Kayla Lane and her husband Gray of Wakefield, Ma.; 4 great grandchildren: Peyton, Ethan and Ava all of East Taunton, and Ashleigh of Berkley; her cousins: Mary Powers, Lisa Borges and Louise Sousa; an aunt: M. Theresa Blain; and also Tom and Linda Souza of Lakeville, and several nieces and nephews. Janet was also the sister of the late Joseph and Robert Conlon.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Tuesday, September 10 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Family Church, East Taunton, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.

TAUNTON – Robert L. Pacheco, Sr., husband of Patricia A. (Mueda) Pacheco of Taunton, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Sept. 6, 2013.
He was 68.
Born, raised and educated in East Taunton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jessie (Reynolds) Pacheco.
A retired custodian, Mr. Pacheco was employed by the Brockton School Department for thirty years, retiring in 2008.
An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he enjoyed duckpin bowling, and competed in a number of championship matches.
Mr. Pacheco was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
In addition to his wife with whom he celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary this past June, he leaves a son, Robert L. Pacheco, Jr. and his wife January; a daughter, Kelly (Pacheco) Tinkham and her husband Joshua; a brother, James Pacheco; three grandchildren, Isabella, Garrison and Nathaniel; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was also the brother of the late Joseph and William Pacheco.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday Sept. 10th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 9th from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Robert R. “Bob” Paling, of Taunton, died Friday, September 6 in the Dighton Nursing Center, Dighton, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine L. (Hancock) Paling. He was born 78 years ago in Dighton, the son of the late Manuel and Candide (Dumont) Paling. He was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at the former Paul A. Dever State School for 20 years. Bob was also employed as a bartender at the Polish-American Citizens Club for over 30 years. He formerly owned and managed Dedham Gardens in Dedham for a number of years. He was a member of the Portuguese-American Civic Club and the Polish-American Citizens Club. Bob was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and enjoyed playing golf and rollerskating.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 2 daughters: Gretchen Hubert and her husband, Peter of Windham, N.H., and Gina Huffman and her husband, Albert of Boston; 2 stepsons: Anthony D. Costa of Taunton and Thomas A. Costa of Bellingham; 1 brother: Edward “Sonny” Paling of Norwich, Ct.; 2 sisters: Joan Dupont and her husband, Edward of Raynham and Geraldine Paling of Raynham; 4 grandchildren: Grace and Samuel Hubert, and Logan and London Huffman, and several nieces and nephews. Bob was also the brother of the late James Paling.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.

In Taunton, September 7th, 2013. Grace E. Jordan (known by all who love her as Meemie) age 96, passed away in Morton Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Grace was married to the love of her life the late Archie B. Jordan for 69 years. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late John Ellis Sr. and Elizabeth (Newton) Ellis. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Grace and Archie ran a small restaurant for a few years, but, she was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking (especially her apple pies). She was an avid Red Sox fan. Above all, Meemie cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughter Shirley J. Sanborn and her late son in law W. Gerard Sanborn, and her late daughter Dorothy A. Byrne. She is also survived by her sisters Joanne DeLisle and her husband George, and Barbara Thompson. The late Dorothy Henriksen, and Margaret Hebert. Her late brothers John Jr., William, and Robert Ellis. Grace is also survived by her three devoted granddaughters Kristen Garcia and her husband Gary, Stacey Waters and her husband Tom, and Kelley Pereira and her husband Rick, as well as her great-grandchildren Derek and Aubrey DiMarzio, Evan Garcia, Allison, and Kaleigh Pereira. Grace also leaves her sister in-law Winnifred Ellis, several nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, September 13th, at 11:30am at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street Taunton Ma. 02780. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 5-8pm. Burial will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
