Taunton, Dorothea Silva-Medeiros of Edgewater Fl. Passed away on Nov. 23, 2013 at Golden Living Center of Wedgemere in Taunton after a brief illness. She was 76 years of age. She was the loving wife of the late John Silva-Medeiros. She was born in Dighton Ma loving daughter of the late John Silva Jr. Prior to moving to Florida ten years ago she was a lifetime Dighton resident. She worked as a Hairdresser for Taunton State Hospital for many years until retirement. She was a member of American Legion in Edgewater Fl. She enjoyed knitting and most of all spending time with her granddaughters. She is survived by her step mother Mary Siva of FL. Who took care of her during her illness, two stepsons Glen Medeiros and his wife Tracey of Fall River and Brian Medeiros of Taunton, four granddaughters Justene Medeiros, Amber Medeiros, Jocelyn Medeiros and Jenna Medeiros all of Taunton, two sister in-laws Cindy Gadson of Fl., Marion Backlund of Halifax, a brother in-law Rick Medeiros of Fall River, a daughter in-law Angela Medeiros of Taunton and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Joan Butler and two nephews Michael and John Butler. Her Funeral services will be on Monday Dec, 2 2013 A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am at St. Nicholas of Myra Church in N. Dighton followed by a burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
