TAUNTON – Adeline C. (Duarte) Morais, wife of the late Joseph B. Morais, died at Marian Manor on May 3, 2013.
She was 89.
Born, raised and educated in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Adeline (DoCarmo) Duarte.
She was employed as a housekeeper at the former Country Haven Nursing Home in Norton for fifteen years.
Mrs. Morais enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves a daughter, Mary Gracia and her husband Bruce of Taunton; three stepsons, Manuel Morais and his wife Virginia of Somerville, Herbert Morais and his wife Jorgina of Brockton, and Joseph Morais and his wife Margaret of Cambridge; two stepdaughters, Constance Lowe of Cambridge and Odette Mamory of GA; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, May 7th at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 6th from 5 to 8 p.m.

TAUNTON – Roque “Rocky” Teves Freitas, husband of Aurelina Ramos (Medeiros) Freitas, died at Marian Manor on May 3, 2013.
He was 89.
Born in Flores, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel T. and Ermelinda (Freitas) Teves.
Educated in the Azores, Mr. Freitas served in the Portuguese Army during WW II before moving to Canada in 1964.
A resident of the Taunton area since 1970, Mr. Freitas was employed by the former Bridgewater Foundry for several years.
He later worked for Swank, Inc., retiring in 1986.
A violinist, Rocky played in local Portuguese folk music ensembles in Taunton and surrounding areas.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
In addition to his wife of Taunton, Mr. Freitas leaves a son, Antonio M. Freitas and his wife Shirley of North Port, FL; a daughter, Tina Maria Dutra and her husband Dana of Berkley; a brother, Jose Luis Teves of Flores, Azores; five grandchildren, Anthony, Adam and Samantha Freitas, and Thompson and Arlina Copley; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, May 8th at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
The family will receive visitors between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-4688.

William Francis McClellan, 83 of Taunton died courageously on May 28, 2013 at home surrounded by family. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Foster) McClellan for 52 years and the son of the late Robert and Catherine (McGinnis) McClellan. Bill was educated in the Taunton School System and was a self-employed Painting Contractor and served in the Army.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed singing Irish tunes at family parties and his trips to Foxwoods. Bumpy loved talking to his grandchildren and offering them advice. He was a member of the Taunton Lodge of Elks.
Bill is survived by his wife and four children, Colleen (McClellan) Wellman, her husband Frank of Taunton, Michael McClellan, his wife Kimberly of Falmouth, David McClellan, wife Dori of Taunton and Matthew McClellan. He is survived by 9 grandchildren and his sisters Catherine Lamont, Teresa Poucel and Margaret Doyle. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Brian, George, and sisters Bernice Sousa, Patricia McClellan and Agnes Whalen.
A Funeral service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Friday, May 31st at 11 AM. Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 11 AM friday morning. Interment will be held at the Bourne National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

Christina “Tina” George, age 79, of Taunton passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Thelma (Tolle) George. She is survived by her brother John T. George and his wife Barbara A. (Rocha) George of Taunton, her niece Jacquelyn M. George of Taunton, her nephew Thomas G. George of Berkley, her grand-nephew Derek M. George of Taunton, great grand nephew Derek M. George Jr of Taunton and long time companion Frederic P. Kalacznik of Taunton. Christina “Tina” was a 1952 graduate of Taunton High School. She was first employed by Armor Bronze and Silver Company but was most known throughout Taunton for owning and operating the family business, Weir Fruit Store with her brother John. She was a member of the Albanian Orthodox Cathedral of St. George in South Boston, where she was a generous donor to the church. She also was a member of the Neighborhood Corp among many other community groups within Taunton. She was an avid sports fan for all the New England sports teams, especially the former Boston now Atlanta Braves. After selling the family business and retiring in 2005 she enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. A service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton Monday, June 3rd at 11 AM. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton from 4-8 PM. Interment Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton. In Boston, June 1, 2013 Patrolman Troy J. Medeiros, age 50 passed away in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, following a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Troy was surrounded by his loving family and many close friends before his passing. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ellen (Bianchi) Medeiros of Taunton. Troy was born in Taunton, the son of Cynthia (Costa) Medeiros of Taunton and his late father Horace Medeiros Jr. Troy was a graduate of Coyle & Cassidy High School and received his master’s degree from Anna-Maria College in Paxton, Ma. He fulfilled his lifetime boyhood dream by joining the Taunton Police Department in 1986 and served the people in multiple law enforcement roles, including patrol, community policing and vice. Troy also served as an election official on the City of Taunton’s Zoning Board. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed fishing with his sons, working out at the gym, expressing how he felt about all matters of local and national politics and above all cherished his time with his family. Troy leaves his two sons Troy Jr. and Max, both of Taunton. His brother Cory Medeiros and his wife Karen of Taunton. Troy also is survived by several nieces and nephews and many close friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Taunton on Wednesday, June 5th at 11 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. In Taunton, June 3, 2013 Alyce H. Corr, age 97passed away at home following a period of declining health. She was the widow of the late William L. Corr. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late William J. & Anna (Murphy) Hanrahan and step daughter of the late Margaret (Harrigan) Hanrahan. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She was employed at Reed & Barton Co. for a few years and later for the U.S. government as a private secretary to Major Ralph Jarris. Alyce was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She was a member of the Weir Seniors, the Greater Taunton Gaelic Society, the Queens Daughters, Police Wives Association and the Friends of the Taunton Public Library. Alyce also enjoyed music, reading and writing poetry. Alyce is survived by her daughter Margaret “Peggi” A. Brown & her husband Ronald of Taunton. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and her dear friend Evelyn Mastromarino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Taunton on Friday, June 7th at 10 am. In Raynham, of Fremont Street Taunton, June 6, 2013 Irene L. (Grant) Tosti wife of Frank Tosti died at the Life Care Center of Raynham at the age of 80. Born in Taunton, Irene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Almena (Gagnon) Grant. She was a graduate of Taunton High School class of 1950. Irene was the founder and co owner of Tosti Real Estate in Taunton. She was a communicant and a Eucharistic minister of the former St. Paul’s Church for over fifty years and now a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton. She was a member of the Coyle & Cassidy Mother’s Club and was the recipient of the Marion Medal. Irene enjoyed her grandchildren especially when they played sports. She was the mother of Richard Tosti and his wife Joan of Douglas, Sharon Lennon and her husband Stephen of Falmouth, Paula Lopes and her husband James of South Dennis, James Tosti of Taunton and Susan Tabak and her husband Scott of Taunton. TAUNTON – Rogerio “Roger” Barbara, husband of Fatima (Vieira) Barbara, died at his Taunton home following a brief illness on June 8, 2013.
He was 59.
Born in Terceira, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Guilhermina (Pereira) Barbara.
A Taunton resident since 1969, Mr. Barbara was employed by Interplex Engineered Products Inc. of Rhode Island.
A member of the Rhode Island Retreads, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling and camping.
A soccer fan, Roger coached and refereed soccer in the Taunton area for many years.
In addition to his wife of Taunton, he leaves two daughters, Emily L. and Christine L. Barbara, both of Taunton; two sisters, Ercilia Raposo of New Bedford and Osvalda DaSilva of Terceira, Azores; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway at St. Mary’s Square, Taunton on Wednesday, June 12th at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., prior to the funeral mass.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In Fall River, June 12, 2013 Catherine M. LaPorte, age 88 passed away in Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River following a lengthy illness. Catherine was the wife of the late Albert R. LaPorte. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Robert & Mabel (Burgoyne) Conaty. Catherine was a graduate of Taunton High School, class of 1943. She worked as a secretary for Taunton High School. Catherine enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling, her cottage in Berkley and above all cherished her time with family. Catherine is survived by her children Barry P. LaPorte of Provincetown, Joyce A. LaPorte of Fall River, Donna M. McMahon of Vernon, CT and Karen A. Farrell of Berkley. She also leaves her eight grandchildren. Catherine leaves her brother James Conaty of Carver and her late siblings Robert Conaty, Mabel Conaty, Marjorie Digits and Thelma Wise. TAUNTON – Thomas A. Tripp, 65, of Taunton, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He passed away after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline R. (Jason) Tripp.

Born in Middleboro, he was the son of Arnold D. and Patricia H. (Furlan) Tripp of Westport. Mr. Tripp was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a computer service technician for various companies in the Greater Boston area. He was a member of the Borden Colony Radio Control Club in Raynham where he enjoyed flying his planes with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by 3 sons: Thomas A. Tripp, Jr. of Dartmouth, Christopher D. Tripp of Raynham and Aaron D. Tripp of Taunton; 1 daughter: Elizabeth A. Tripp of Taunton; 3 brothers: Daniel D. Tripp, Andrew F. Tripp and Steven H. Tripp all of Westport; 1 sister: Rebecca M. Tripp of Westport; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Monday 5-8 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be private.

Private Interment will be in Linden Grove Cemetery, Westport.

In Taunton, June 22, 2013 Angelina Goulart, age 84 passed away in Morton Hospital following a lengthy period of declining health while surrounded by her loving family. Angelina was the wife of the late Edwardo Goulart. She was born in Portugal, the daughter of the late Joao & Ana (Dutra) Souto. Angelina has resided most of her life in Raynham. She was employed at the former Norwell Lighting Co. in Raynham. Angelina enjoyed singing and dancing. Angelina’s love and support to her family and friends were boundless, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving son Paul Goulart and his wife Marian of Raynham. She leaves her siblings Albert Souto of Taunton, Palmira Perreira of New Bedford, Ilda Silva of Taunton, Gilberta Escobar of Oregon, Lois Diniz of Taunton and the late Maria Pinheiro, Jose Souto, Joao Souto and Fatima Souto. Angelina also leaves several nieces and nephews and many close friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham on Thursday, June 27th at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours prior to her mass at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton Ma. from 9:30-10:30 am. Born in Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Beatrice D. (Jenney) LaRue.
She was employed as a clerk by Mastria Buick.
Mrs. Lopes enjoyed shopping with her best friend Jeannie Sumstead.
She leaves two sons, Joseph and Timothy Rogers of Taunton; a daughter, Betty Rogers of Taunton; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Michael H. Rogers and the sister of the late Russell LaRue.

Nell was the wife of Jeffrey D. Hickerson of East Taunton. She was born in Jerseyside, Newfoundland, Canada, the daughter of the late Thomas & Sarah (Miller) Mulrooney. Nell has resided in East Taunton since 1991. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton. Nell enjoyed reading, knitting, long drives and sightseeing. Nell was a simple woman who was devoted in her faith and cherished her time with family. She leaves her children Andrew Mulrooney and his wife Huguette of Quebec City, Canada. Thomas Mulrooney of Taunton, Carl Mulrooney of Taunton, her son in law Frank Patrizi and late daughter Linda. In Taunton, June 28, 2013 Thomas K. Faulkner age 86, passed away in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Thomas served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the military and the Military Sea Transport Service and has resided in the Taunton area until his passing. Thomas enjoyed shopping, dining out, spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister in laws Roma Burns of N.Y. Albertina Pistana of Taunton , Barbara Faulkner of Taunton and the late John, Paul, and Richard Faulkner. Thomas also leaves several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kora (Hanakam) Silva, of East Taunton, died Friday, June 28 at her residence following a period of failing health. A war bride, she was the beloved wife of the late John K. Silva. She was born 91 years ago in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresa (Kohl) Hanakam. She was educated in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to the United States, living for a time in Rhode Island before moving to the Taunton area in 1948. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the former Thompson Box Co. of Taunton for 4 years. She was previously employed as a weaver at the former Ansonia Mills in East Taunton for 18 years. She was a member of the C.I.F. Union. Kora enjoyed camping and traveling with her late husband. She was a member of the Wat Nawamintararachutis Meditation Center.
She leaves: A nephew: Bruce E. Silva of Arizona, and several other nieces and nephews in Europe. She also leaves a number of dear friends.
At her request, funeral services and interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.

THORNTON, NH – Isabelle Frances (Andrade) Ferreira, wife of the late Francis M. Ferreira, died at the Peabody Home in Franklin, NH on July 1, 2013.
She was 89.
Formerly of Taunton and Holiday, FL, she resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Thornton for the past four years.
A retired LPN, Mrs. Ferreira was employed by Taunton State Hospital for over 28 years.
She was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton, and a member the church’s Women’s Guild.
In her earlier years, Mrs. Ferreira was a Girl Scout leader.
A life member of the former VFW Raposa-Knott Post 2094, Mrs. Ferreira leaves two sons, David Ferreira of Wesley Chapel, FL and Thomas Ferreira of Attleboro; two daughters, Anita Bala of Westfield and Christine St. Laurent of Thornton, NH; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Latour of Taunton, Peggy Correia of Tiverton, RI and Evelyn Andrade of Wareham; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late John, Charles and Roland Andrade, and the late Mary Lourenco.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, July 5th at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., prior to the funeral mass.

Mr. Thomas J. Rose, of Taunton, died Friday, June 28 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Victoria (Thornley) Rose. He was born 68 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Alfred and Ruth (Merchant) Rose. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a press operator for Reed and Barton Silversmiths for 39 years. Thomas enjoyed fishing, shellfishing, canoeing, was an avid Boston sports fan, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 2 daughters: Brenda of W. Bridgewater and Melissa of Raynham; 1 stepson: Richard Semegen of Taunton; 2 stepdaughters: Dawnne Cwiek and Heidi Charette, both of Taunton; 5 brothers: Ronald Rose of E. Taunton, Philip, Raymond, David and Barry Rose, all of Taunton; 5 sisters: Janice Labrecque of Berkley, Helen Pelletier of Taunton, Linda Coelho of Florida, Ruth Ann Rose of Taunton and Debra Faria of Taunton; 5 grandchildren: Gregory, Britney, Megan, and Matthew Charette, and Richard Semegen, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Alfred and Gerald Rose.
A Graveside Service will be held in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Staples Street, East Taunton on Thursday, July 11 at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, July 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Prayer Service will follow the Visiting Hours, Wednesday at 8:00 P.M.

Mrs. Mary (Doku) Tanes, of Taunton, died Thursday, July 4 in the Golden Living Center – Wedgemere following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Tanes, Sr. She was born 88 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late James and Olga (Cheno) Spiro. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Mary enjoyed listening to music, watching old movies, going to the theater, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. George’s Orthodox Church in South Boston.

She leaves: 1 son: Thomas H. Tanes, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Humble, Texas; 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Taunton, Carloine M.”Sis” (Reid) Mckenney a lifetime Raynham resident passed away on Tuesday July 2nd 2013 at Marion Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was 87 years of age. She was the wife of the late Elwin McKenney. She was born in Raynham Ma, daughter of the late Lyle and Pauline (Spousta) Reid. She worked at Brockton Christian Scool as a Teacher for 32 years She was a member of the Calvary Chapel in Raynham, She was the Superitendent of Sunday School and also taught it. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son Elwyn McKenney Jr., her brother Lyle Reid Jr and her sister Natalie Syrachoff. Her funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am at the Taunton Funeral Home relatives and friends are invited to attend. visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9-11am.
