Eva Salamon 2/26/2014 Taunton, MA / No. Kingstown, RI

Miss Eva Salamon, of Taunton, died Wednesday, February 26 in Longmeadow of Taunton following a brief illness. She was born 95 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Peter and Antonia (Sosenko) Salamon. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated with High Honors from Taunton High School, Class of 1936, and had also attended the former Bristol County Business College in Taunton. She was a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as Principal Clerk at the former Paul A. Dever State School for 20 years. Eva was previously employed as a secretary at the former General Electric in Taunton for 19 years. She was active and donated to several area charitable associations. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and current events. She was a member of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Cumberland, R.I. She leaves: 3 brothers: William Salamon of No. Kingstown, R.I., Paul Salamon of Taunton, and Peter Salamon and his wife, Mary of Taunton; 1 sister: Helen Booth of Taunton; her sister-in-law: Helen (Strojny) Salamon, and 18 nieces and nephews. Eva was also the sister of the late Anna Ladebauche, Mary Marney, Esther Costa, Julia Salamon, Nicholas Salamon and John Salamon and his wife, Rita. A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, March 3 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will precede the Service, Monday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
