TAUNTON – Ralph G. Conant Jr., loving husband of Ruth (Pacheco) Conant, passed away peacefully at his East Taunton home on Aug. 22, 2012.
He was 83.
Born in Middleboro, he was the son of the late Ralph Conant Sr. and Ruth (Jones) Conant.
Ralph is survived by his sister, Lillian Porter of Middleboro, and was the brother of the late Beverly Tower, Charles Conant, Edna Santos, George Conant, Gordon Conant, Marjorie Rego, Marian Alphonse, and Russell Conant.
He was the loving father of Ralph “Buddy” Conant III and Sherri Machado and her husband Kevin, all of Taunton.
He was grandfather to Jamie, Christen and Randy Conant, and Paisley and Noah Machado, and great grandfather to Primo Dias.
Ralph was also uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Ralph served valiantly in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart Medal for injuries sustained in battle.
He enjoyed a long career as a Purchasing Agent for Ad-A-Day in Taunton.
He loved being an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as an Elder, teaching bible study and using his sweet tenor voice to sing in choir.
He devoted his life to family and God.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9th at 11 a.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 109 Winthrop St. Taunton.
Interment will be at Pinehill Cemetery, East Taunton on Monday, Sept. 10th at 11 a.m.
Arrangements are by the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton.
