Mrs. Mary (Doku) Tanes, of Taunton, died Thursday, July 4 in the Golden Living Center – Wedgemere following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Tanes, Sr. She was born 88 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late James and Olga (Cheno) Spiro. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Mary enjoyed listening to music, watching old movies, going to the theater, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. George’s Orthodox Church in South Boston.
She leaves: 1 son: Thomas H. Tanes, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Humble, Texas; 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, July 9 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will precede the funeral, Tuesday, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
