Mrs. Shirley (DeMoura) Correia, of Assonet, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 18 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Correia, Sr. She was born 73 years ago in Connecticut, the daughter of the late Alfred and Annette (Marquis) DeMoura. She was educated in Taunton and had been an Assonet resident for the past 48 years. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at the Nulco Lighting Company in Attleboro for 10 years. Shirley enjoyed cooking, gardening, visiting casinos and spending time with her family. She leaves: 3 sons: Ronald Burgess of Minnesota, Robert M. Correia, Jr. and Thomas J. Correia, both of Assonet; 2 daughters: Cynthia Arsenault of Westport and Virginia A. Sylvia of Assonet; 2 brothers: Paul DeMoura of Dighton, and Robert DeMoura of So. Carolina; 8 grandchildren: Heather, Tyler, Courtney, Summer, Eric Jr., Michael, Megan and Jacob; 4 great grandchildren: Lianna, Ashlyn, Dexter and Hayden, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
