Kenneth MacDonald, 70 Dateline: Norton, MA Kenneth MacDonald, age 70, of Norton passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Janet A. (Kinsman) MacDonald to whom he was wed on October 11, 1968. Born in Melrose, MA on February 19, 1943, he was a son of the late John and Phyllis (Duff) MacDonald. Ken grew up and was educated in Providence, Attleboro and Norton, and was a 1960 graduate of Norton High School. On October 18, 1960, he enlisted in the United States Navy and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged from the service on February 14, 1964 with the rank of Seaman E-3. Prior to retiring, Mr. MacDonald had been employed as a Design Draftsman in the Bio-Medical Field. He had worked at Ortho Diagnostics and Compucyte. He was also the owner of Mylar Specialties and along with his wife Janet, had started a small custom embroidery and hand-made doll business called Cinnamon Biscuit Designs. Following retirement, Ken enjoyed working part time at CVS in Easton. Ken had made his home in Norton for over 50 years. He loved spending time with his adoring family and traveling with his wife Janet, their favorite point of destination being Branson, Missouri. In addition to his beloved wife of over 44 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Kimberlie B. MacDonald of Taunton and Sean-Patrick M. MacDonald and his wife Georgia of Norton. He was the dear brother of Elaine Braley of New Hampshire, Douglas MacDonald of Norton and the late Judi Fulp. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter Alexys Baty, as well as 1 niece and 4 nephews. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. A service in celebration of his life will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
