TAUNTON – Anthony Gallego, husband of the late Barbara (Marvel) Gallego, died at the St. Vincent Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL on March 12, 2013. He was 82. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Elemina (Cambra) Gallego. Mr. Gallego was a lifelong Taunton resident and former co-owner/operator of Taunton’s Modern Construction Company. A member of the Portuguese American Civic Club, his favorite pastime was enjoying the company of his family. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Gallego of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Ruth A. Blackwell of Jacksonville, FL, Jean M. Cavanaugh of Williamsburg, VA, and Barbara J. Wilson and her husband Thomas of Jacksonville; a brother, Edward Gallego of Taunton; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Francis Gallego. Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, March 20th at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
