TAUNTON – Frank A. Macedo of Taunton, husband of the late Mildred V. (Avilla) Macedo, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital on March 9, 2013. He was 82. Born and raised in Dighton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Rose (Vincent) Macedo. Mr. Macedo attended Dighton schools and later served in the Korean War. He was employed by the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant as a fireman for many years, retiring several years ago. In his earlier years he was employed by the Grossman’s store formerly located in Taunton. A member of the Oakland Seniors, he enjoyed watching westerns, traveling, and trips to Twin Rivers. Survivors include four sons, Allan F. Macedo and Marjorie Rezendes of Rochester, Scott G. Macedo and his wife Connie of North Dighton, Bruce J. Macedo of Taunton, and Eric F. Macedo and his wife Kathy of Taunton; a brother, Manuel Macedo of St. Augustine, FL; a sister, Mary Cope of CA; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, March 12th at 6:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be private at a later date.
