Consuelo De Gracia, of Taunton, died Thursday, February 28 in the New England Sinai Hospital, Stoughton, following a period of failing health. She was born 91 years ago in Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Fidel Cruz and Nicolasa De Gracia. She was educated in Puerto Rico and had been a United States resident since 1950. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a clerk in several supermarkets in the New York area, and was previously employed on a farm in Puerto Rico. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, gathering her family for Sunday meals, gardening and watching her Telenovelas. She was a former communicant of St. Theresa’s Parish in Washington Heights, N.Y., and St. Paul of the Apostles Parish in Manhattan. She leaves: 2 daughters: Gladys Martinez and Maria Hernandez, both of Taunton; 4 grandchildren: Rafael Martinez, Jr., and Leticia Aponte, both of Taunton, David Rodriguez and Felix Hernandez, both of New Jersey; 11 great grandchildren: Rafael Martinez, III, Shantel Martinez, Jessica Martinez, Erica Aponte, Veronica Aponte, Ariel Rodriguez, David A. Rodriguez, Jesse E. Rodriguez, Gabrielle R. Rodriguez, Matthew Hernandez, and Brianna Hernandez; 5 great great grandchildren: Elias J. Martinez, Joeniya Davis, Rebekah Aguilar, Leah L. Ramirez, and Jairelys A. Fuentes, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, March 4 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
