TAUNTON – Honorato Medeiros Silva, husband of the late Maria Joana (Paiva) Silva, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on Jan. 21, 2013. He was 86. Born and raised in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria Medeiros (Constancia) Fernandes Silva. He moved to Taunton in 1966. Employed for a time by the former Acme Boot Company, he later worked for the former Dyecraftsmen Inc. retiring at the age of 63. A communicant of St. Anthony Church and longtime member of the Romeiros (Shepherds), he enjoyed tending his garden and making his own wine. Survivors include a son, Humberto “Herb” DaSilva and his wife Zelia of Taunton; two daughters, Isabel M. Narciso of Taunton, and Diane M. Bonneau and her husband Scott of Taunton; two brothers, Jose Fernandes Silva and Laureno Fernandes Silva, both of St. Michael; a sister, Conceicao Medeiros Silva of St. Michael; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father-in-law of the late Jose Narciso, and brother of the late Antonio Fernandes Silva and Manuel Fernandes Silva. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Jan. 26th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
