TAUNTON – Irene (Medeiros) Correia, wife of the late Lionel Correia, died at Marian Manor on Jan. 8, 2013. She was 86. Born, raised and educated in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Costa) Medeiros. Mrs. Correia was a homemaker for most of her adult life and enjoyed music, square dancing, and time spent with family and friends. She was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church. Survivors include a son, Richard Correia of North Dighton; four brothers, Joseph and Robert Medeiros, both of CA, Manuel Medeiros of Ohio, and Francisco Medeiros of Taunton; a sister, Antoinette Goulart of Taunton; a daughter-in-law, Ellen (Ramey) Correia of Wrentham; two granddaughters, Jane Correia and her husband Ravi Iyer of Venice, CA, and Anne Correia of San Diego, CA; a great granddaughter, Daphne Correia; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Lionel Correia, Jr. and the sister of the late Antone Medeiros, Mary Souza and Elsie Ramos. Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday Jan. 12th at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
