Mrs. Ruth M. (Emond) Conaty, of Taunton, died Saturday, December 15 in the Life Care Center of Raynham following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late John K. Conaty. She was born on Christmas Day, 91 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Philip and May (Dyer) Emond. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Art’s Bakery in Taunton for 5 years. She was previously employed in the Bakery Department of the former Fernandes Supermarket in Raynham for 15 years. Ruth was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church Womens Guild, the Oakland Senior Citizens Club, and the Cousins Club. She enjoyed traveling and her home on Whittenton Street. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Parish in Taunton. She leaves: 1 daughter: Jean C. Whalen and her husband, William of Buzzards Bay; 1 grandson: William Whalen and his wife, Caroline of Somerville, and 1 great grandson, William H. Whalen of Somerville. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Thursday, December 20 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church, Taunton, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will precede the funeral, Thursday, from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M.
