Edward P. McCarron, 72 Dateline: Norton, MA Edward P. McCarron, 72, of Norton passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at home. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (LaRosee) McCarron. Born in Boston, MA on January 29, 1940, he was a dear son of the late Joseph A. and Helen (Nee) McCarron and the late Margaret M. (Ponzo) McCarron. Ed spent his early childhood living in South Boston. His family later moved to Taunton and then to Norton where he has made his home for over 50 years. He faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He was honorably discharged from the service on January 9, 1961 with the rank of Machinist’s Mate Fireman. Prior to retiring, Mr. McCarron was the proud owner of Ed’s Lawn Maintenance, a company he operated for over 25 years in Norton. He had also been employed for many years at St. Regis in Attleboro and also when it became the Fortifiber Corporation. Ed was a devout communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton. He enjoyed bicycling and spending time with family and friends at his home in Newbury, Vermont. He especially loved the times shared with his cherished grandchildren and will always be remembered for the kindness he showed to animals. In addition to his beloved wife Judy, he is survived by his devoted daughter Carolann McCarrron of Raynham and was the father of the late Joseph E. McCarron. He was the cherished grandfather of Zachary Morin and Olivia Morin both of Raynham and was the dear brother of Muriel Souza of Taunton, Paula Stanton of Colorado, Grace Gaskin of North Attleboro and Dorothy “Dolly” Terassi and Ann Marie Busby both of Attleboro. He is also survived by his mother in law Gertrude A. LaRosee, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 12th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Center Cemetery, Norton. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 11th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
