TAUNTON – Pedro M. Silva Martins, husband of Isabella Martins of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, and the late Margarida (Cordeiro) Martins, died at Trillium Health Care Center in Mississauga on Oct. 18, 2012. A resident of the Mississauga area for the past five years, Mr. Matins was 59 years old. Born, raised and educated in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of Maria Silva of Taunton and the late Manuel Sousa Martins. He served in the Portuguese Army before moving to the Taunton area 1985. A self-employed electrician by trade, he was a former member of Annunciation of the Lord Church. In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves four sons, Agnelo, Luis, Pedro, Jr. and Stephen Martins, all of Taunton; two daughters, Catia and Ana Martins, both of Taunton; a stepson, Steven Nunes of Mississauga, Ontario; two sisters, Leontina Almeida of Taunton and Delores Camara of FL; two grandchildren, Sophia and Ayden Grant; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Oct. 25th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
